WCAL 2024-25 SEASON

with all do respect, i know quite a bit against san diego teams. to literally prove my point, let's talk about those bowl games. lincoln of san diego beat de la salle by literally direct snapping the ball to there manchild running back (now at georgia) and letting him bowl over people. straight out of the 70's like i said.

i agree completely about mcclymonds having speed and talent, but the point still stands that they don't even have enough people to field a team. riordan is being hyped as a team that is supposed to compete with the likes of junipero serra this year. do you think for a second that serra would play a close game against a team with 18 players? as the kids say........boy aint no way boy. you should be able to wear them down and pull away in the second half. riordan couldnt do that which is a massive red flag.
Come on block enough already. You attempt to destroy the national board and now you're doing the same here. What is it with you? From Folsom lover to SoCal expert and now back to NorCal. Just stop please. With all due respect.

Everyone has their opinion and there is nothing wrong with speaking your mind. But I just state facts.

I love JUCO ball but you cannot say it’s superior to prep ball without stating recent facts. I am going to ask how many kids from Norcal JUCO went D1 last year ? I honestly do not know the answer to that but am sure someone on this message board will know that answer.

GSP (post grad prep) here in NorCal sent 6 D1 last year Alone and another 6+ to various levels. That is one program alone. However I know JUCO is absolutely valuable because everyone runs their race at various timelines. This past year we have sent at least 3 of our kids to local jucos because that was their timeline. There is absolutely Nothing wrong with GSP making local juco a ball better as well. It is a win win.

This season GSP will have one of the top post grad squads in the USA. A great program to watch high level talent especially their big men this year. All of these kids are also 18 years of age which is younger than JUCO so hard to compare them against one another. Both have value for various timelines.

As for your argument about which is better high school or prep schools. It all depends on the individual situation. If you are a PRO you are a PRO. But if you are a fringe guy then one over the other does matter. If you don’t want to sit out half the season cause of CIF rules, than one has more value over the other. Preps aren’t going away so don’t know why people still talking so much trash. They are just going to be growing in popularity.

Yeah MC could end up 4-6 this year and be like in D5, i can’t stress how bad this team is offensively with their QB, they will need to make the switch to BBD sooner than later so they can have a running threat in the backfield they still have some capable WRs without him, but their running back situation is dire, they have zero I mean zero juice in the backfield

Week 3 Streams and scores

Depends on what division they are placed for NCS. MC and CN are 6 but will most likely both be in 4? It would be honestly criminal for one of them to be in 5 or 6.
Well at least we know this year they will play each other in league. MC could drop a game to Windsor or San Marin as well. Newman could lose a league game as well, but I think this year thats less doubtful.

That would be awful. In really strong years, Newman and MC are pretty much on par with the best D2 teams in Norcal. And the way it shakes out is sometimes NCS d4 is better than both D2 and D3. Anything lower would be ridicolous. MC is playing a brutal schedule this year so they will have some losses before league but I never take them lightly. Newman has 2 hard non league games left in Odowd and Pleasant Valley, Chico.

Campo hosts Northgate

k-man..........very nice play bys. Always liked your BB work but your football posting qualities are right there Senor ! You've gone from a meh, Safeway brand toasted corny flakes poster to a Tony the Tiger, full on Frosted Flakes, ......with or without milk. (of course doing your favored Campo helps your narrations) But thanks for your fine work and NFHS is lucky you can't be everywhere or it might be "Asta la Vista Bebé" to them and they wouldn't be getting my monthly $11.49.
Again Thanks, going to be a fun football season. -Crete

Week 3 Streams and scores

Cardinal Newman 28
Vacaville 10

Really nice win for Newman on the road against a bigger more athletic Vacaville team that nearly beat Granite Bay last week.
Newman dominated the O line and was able to run the ball when they needed too. Still struggling with passing game but for now the defense and run game has been stellar. its early but newman is a potential bowl team at that D3 level from what I've seen.

They play BOD in a couple of weeks. That will be a big game!

I’m not even sure MV was favored in this one. BOD has clearly improved and has a nice coaching staff. MV came in last place in the EBAL Mountain last season, and may do so again.

Yeah, 20-25 years ago, the "prep" landscape was basically Oak Hill... and that was it. So, with that super-low number of roster spots, very few kids considered it. If they wanted to get out of their public high school, they went to nearby privates or maybe changed their address (legally, I hope).

So, using players from 30-40 years ago as examples has almost zero merit in this argument.
