Interesting you bring up DLS. Makes me wonder what is the most D1 guys they have in all the years per season. I don’t think it is close to 17. I know for sure they have had no more than 2 on their state titles teams for basketball and all the great runs.

As for Riordan it’s a very interesting story. One would think they would be so much better. However sometimes it’s not just about having a loaded roster on paper. There has to be a complete buy in and everyone has to fill the role.

They do have a couple of guy who obviously are legit. Lawson is going to Washington. Tofi is going to Cal. I am not familiar with enough to say anything about offers as football recruiting is nothing I ever followed. But the younger Tofi did get an offer from Ohio State which I tend to think is rare for Bay Area kids so I would say that is legit.

Overall the school has tons of talent sports wise. But in the end every kid wants to win titles. It’s like the new to basketball Caitlin Clark fans. They will scream about records and many think she is the best in the WNBA at this moment. But one thing has eluded her. No state or college rings. And SH did win a bowl game, however as an alum I look at their title as I would a D5 basketball. In my alums case, they were far form one of the Bay Area best.

Agreed. They don’t even use the rb Carter Jackson at all or in the correct manner to maximize his potential and skill set. Plus their qb can’t play in the pocket. Most of his pass completions are scramble drills and they aren’t coaching him out of that.

No doubt, as was Mark who was the 1986 WCAL player of the year. He later played rugby for SF Golden Gate and then an Eagle as a member of the US National team. Playing the Lancers in the mid 80's was tough.

I hear you that these are good teams, but we are talking about 17 D1 level players….. My guess is that Half of the National Top 10 teams have less then 17 D1 level players….

With that many D1 players, You should not be losing 4 games unless you played Mater Dei, SJB. Bishop Gorman and IMG….. 🤣

Suppose I should comment on the Carmel lights issue. Yes, Carmel finally has lights. After what seems like forever legal battles with the school's NIMBY "neighbors". However the approved plan also calls for an expansion of the parking lot and that has yet to be completed. And since it is not finished, the school has elected to play Friday night games at MPC fearing that a night game at Carmel might give the NIMBYers a reason to go back to court arguing that the lights shouldn't be used until the parking situation has been resolved. At least that is my understanding.

I get what he's saying. If a school is throwing out 200+ offers for 22 scholarship spots they aren't all real. The math don't lie. They even tell some kids they aren't committable. WTF does that mean. What it means is post on IG with some lame ass picture and market the school for us.

There has always been one consistent and constant theme for every Riordan football team no matter what year, players, coaches or administration. They hate SH. Hate isnt even doing it justice. I can remember their players lining up during warmups and their 10 count. "Irish.... Irish.... Irish....Irish... Irish"... They were possessed to kill us. And this attitude, if they actually displayed that hatred vs every opponent, by God they would actually be dominant and better than what their record shows. They hung 63 on SH. They probably shouldve hung 90.

You can just blame both coaches and players. Players arent motivated beyond their own personal goals. When you have that attitude, you cant coach them. Dont matter how many supposed D1 guys you have. Coaches cant do anything if you dont have players willing and able.
