GRANITE BAY vs. FOLSOM

Sierra Foothill League's Granite Bay(3-0) and Folsom(4-0) meet this Friday night.
The Folsom Bulldogs(state#11) vs.The Granite Bay Grizzlies(state#39) starts league play for both teams.
The Grizzlies are 2012 D1 State Champions (win over Long Beach Poly) and The Bulldogs are 2014 D1 State Champions ( and were one of the best NorCal high school football teams ever- win over Oceanside). Granite Bay's Defense has played well allowing 25 points in three games. Folsom's offense has scored 179 points in four games. Can the Bulldogs keep their 36 regular season game winning streak going or are the Grizzlies ready to pull off an upset? Good Luck to both teams.

LEAGUE PLAY BEGINS FOR EBAL AND DFAL

This coming Friday, the EBAL and the DFAL kick off the league play and both leagues look to be black and blue when its all over with....In the EBAL, Granada and Livermore have had a banner preseason and now this coming Friday comes the real test to see how they do against each other in the EBAL
For the EBAL this is how they came out so far in preseason..
Foothill.....4-0
Monte vista 3-0.....Faces CVC on 10-2
Granada 3-1
Livermore 3-1
California 2-1.....Faces DLS on 11-6
Amador Valley 2-1.....Meets North gate this coming Friday night
San Ramon Valley 1-2.....Faces DLS on 10-9
For the DFAL, this is how the preseason came out..
Dublin .....4-0
Miramonte.....4-0
Dougherty Valley.....4-0
Campolindo .....3-1
Alhambra.....3-1
Acalanes.... 1-3
LasLomas .....1-3
As you can see, Dublin, Miramonte and DV have really come on strong, but the team to watch is Miramonte as they have made major changes in the offense and it showed right off the bat...Jr QB Tim Tague has taken over from Anderson who has become a sure handed receiver along with Lindberg...Couple up with hard running back Clayton Stehr, and the Mat's have become a scoring machine...

Local QBs leading CCSF and CSM

Anthony Gordon (Terra Nova/CCSF) and Dru Brown (Los Gatos/CSM) were both under recruited last year and both won starting jobs. Each have led their respective teams to a 3-0 start and the #2 and #3 ranking in CA. Both Gordon and Brown have 7 TD passes and Brown has another 2 rushing TDs
Great to see them doing well. They both should get a shot at the next level if they keep this pace up.

West Coast Jamboree is full

Thanks to all who have submitted applications -- we are full up at 128 teams, though we will start a waiting list.

I am also open to teams that will keep one to three games open on their schedules in case we have late dropouts. Any such teams would play for free, but also risk not getting any games at all should all 128 teams show up. (Last year, they did ... two years ago, one team dropped out three days before and another just blew it off. I had to call the coach at 11 for his 11:30 game and he said "I told someone I wasn't coming.")

Thanks again, and we're also very excited to add Castro Valley and Mt. Diablo as host schools. Deer Valley and Freedom are not doing so this year.

DFAL season begins......ready for war

Another competitive DFAL season is ready to begin. Dublin and DV have surprised thus far going 4-0 using a grueling and controlling run game behind some big boys. Miramonte has done as expected and could win it all this year with Campo vulnerable. Alhambra should be a player but it sounds like until until they get a new good coach things will be subpar. Las Lomas and Acalanes are clearly rebuilding and could find themselves in the cellar. All eyes will be on DV and Dublin in game 1 to see if they are for real in 2015.
