Due to a coaching change, Franklin High School has decided not to attend the 40th Annual AIBT. We are looking for an 8th team to fill out the tournament roster. The AIBT is the longest running tournament in Northern California. We provide complimentary housing for all non-local players, as well as complementary hotel rooms for coaching staff, Rotary/Coaches social, coaches breakfast, and huge student body assembly (dunk contest and 3 pt. shootout). We cannot promise a 1X1 competition between Red Bluffs longstanding head coach Stan Twitchell and Montgomery Highs first year coach Zac Tiedeman, (both ex. HSU SUPERSTARS) BUT WE WILL TRY AND MAKE THat HAPPEN. The field at this time includes, Arcata High, Eureka High, Montgomery High, Red Bluff High, Piner High, Fortuna High, and McKinnlyville HIgh. Liberty's Shurod Thompson is back open after de-committing from Cal on Tuesday.

Washington C Austin Rei (Campolindo) is taken in the third round by Boston.

We don't want any of our long-time participants to get shut out, especially from Northern California, so this is just a gentle reminder that things appear to be changing. We have right around 64 teams right now, about half of whom have already paid, and the message is that waiting until October to send in an application might not work as well as it has in the past.

The dates are Dec. 28-30, and we want everyone to come who wants to come. All that needs to be done is to send in the application -- the check can come later.

Congrats to Damon Wiley from DLS on his first offer from the University of San Diego. Not many 6' 230 pound strong side defensive linemen that size getting offers. Props to an old school type of player.

The 42nd Lions all star football game will be played on Saturday, June 13th at 7pm at Tracy High School. Its the North vs South. The pregame start at 6 pm. The game is dedicate to Louie Villalovoz long time committee member. Great food and you will enjoy a great game.

Head-Royce beat Clear Lake 7-3 (undefeated run over for Clear Lake)
Branson beat Redwood Christian 4-3 (Branson is the 3rd MCAL team to make a section final)

I see that the Huskies added their third NorCal QB to their roster. They also have K.J. Carta-Samuels of Bellarmine and Jake Browning of Folsom.

Rivals.com national analyst Mike Farrell wrote this about Lamar Jackson at the Rivals 5-star Challenge in Baltimore:

This award goes to the player you look at during warmups and simply assume plays a position other than his own. Jackson is a big kid and likely to grow into a linebacker, but if he does stay as a safety he will be a big one who can cover a lot of ground. His frame is excellent, he uses his long arms to disrupt passing lanes and knock the ball out of the hands of defenders and he's just starting to scratch the surface of his potential.
