63rd Crusader Classic @ Archbishop Riordan

San Ramon Valley faces Archbishop Riordan tomorrow night for the Crusader Classic Title.

People knew about them. EBAL is going to be a war. DLS won their tourney over Capital Christian 56-37.

I was at the game and SRV is very very good. King is just all world and took the game over late. Riordan's defense is nonstop in your face. I'm pretty sure Joey only went 6 deep tonight with Jones missing but it is a very strong 6! Congrats to the Crusaders 💪🏽

A good win for the Crusaders. SRV is the real deal and played confident and inspired. Riordan’s length and athleticism is going to give teams a challenge. Zach Jones and Alex Kuminga were not available and Kaia Berridge appears to be in the sit out period. King Wilhite really flourishing with this team. I thought it was going to take some time, but this team has come together and should be even more cohesive as the season progresses.

Riordan needed this type of game as their last two were not competitive. Clearly they are one of the top teams but the same issues from previous seasons are still there, namely on offense falling in love with the 3 and not being aggressive taking it to the paint. Wilhite, during stretches sees enough of this and gets to the rim with ease. On defense, they do have problems with teams that are constantly in motion and moving the ball. SRV at times lulled them to sleep with this and ended up with a good looking 3.

Lucky, its early and they can clean up some of these flaws, but they are a fun watch.

Caught last night’s game and RIordan’s D is pretty good for so early in the season. Years past, they would have lost. RIordan’s Christian Wise shut down SRV’s best player who torched every team before last night including against University’s stud, Joey Kennedy. Wilhite has been scoring at will against opponents and Tshamala and the super freshman, Andrew Hilman are pretty good 3 pt shooters and can also drive to the bucket. Was hoping to see Alex Kuminga but he has not there this weekend or last. The Crusaders are sure to see motion offenses and great 3 pt shooting with the likes of Campolindo, Clovis North, Dublin and Branson heading into next week’s Gridley Tournament.

Caught the first half on Youtube - Riordan and SRV both looked real good. Riordan is much improved over last year's squad which made a nice run at the end of the season. If this team continues to improve they'll be a team to reckon with in the NorCal Open. Nice team even w/o the players who aren't available. If they are good then watch out NorCal - move over Mitty! SRV has a nice squad as well - lots of tall shooters.
