ALHAMBRA 40 DEANZA 14

Alhambra took off to a 14 -0 lead and then to 21-0 when DeAnza got down to business and scored twice in the second quarter.....and made it 21-14.....DeAnza's defense in the second quarter and thru out the rest of the game pushed the Bulldog line around, throwing the Bulldog quarterback, Elliot for several looses and had him scrambling...but at the same time, it was Elliot on many keepers that saw him rip thru the DeAnza defense for big yardage and three TD's. Plus Damon Leonard's 80 yard KO return, which was the highlight of the game
On the down side, it was the same old game different team that saw over 100 yards in Penalties and at one time Alhambra was second and 40.....Now in the second quarter, for a while it looked like DeAnza was going to catch up to Alhambra as the Bulldog defensive line was giving up lots of yardage and the Don passing game was clicking.
Now, it looks like Alhambra will face bishop O'Dowd and they can't afford to play the game they did tonight as the Dragon's will turn the tables on them....

I think O'Dowd will get the job done, they have been improving each week...I was hoping if Alhambra and O'Dowd face each other, that it would be a home game at Alhambra, but O'Dowd is Seed 4, so it looks like another sat. Afternoon game....we will see...

Well...Bishop O'Dowd did better then get the job done by sending Piner home 41-0, s this sets up the meet on sat. at 1 P.M. with Alhambra at Bishop O'Dowd....If the Bulldog's expect to win, they have to cut out the penalties and the sloppy line play as the Dragon's I don't think have for gotten the last two losses to Alhambra several years ago....And the lucky winner gets to face Campolindo....

The DA Dons showed some gusto. First NCS outing since Campo back in '05. A moral victory...if only for one half.

Odowd didn't look like a giant killer either...13-0 at half. 2 tipped balls(1 on offense, 1 a pick six) in first 2 minutes of 3rd quarter resulting in Odowd tds made close game 28-0 and Piner looking for exits. Odowd 1st win this season over team with a winning record. Piner didnt beat anyone with a winning record so take that for what its worth. Alhambra game should be interesting

This doesn't mean a whole lot, but Wood walked all over Alhambra 42-3 in a scrimmage...But, Alhambra on five different drives were at fourth and five and decided to go for it and all five fizzled and Wood went to work with their passing game and picked Alhambra apart...If The Bulldogs would have punted, the score may have been much different....Now Bishop O'Dowd got involved in a shoot out with Wood but lost 49-45...but they scored 45 against Wood and stayed with them...The Bulldog O and D must play errorless football or the Dragon's are going to win....
