All-East Bay

Timmy falls and Austin fadal should have both made at least third team. Both are first team all league players and there is Not 6 guards that are better then falls in the east bay at all.

It's really sad that basketball is not judged on the true play of a player. How does a kid who got suspended for half a season and play in one of the worst leagues is nominated.for All Eastbay?

lovin basketball

The game of sports is all opinon ran we all know that and everyone has a different one, but to even have an opinon you need to know and state facts and your not so 1st work on that then you can have an opinion.

What facts do you need to make an opinion? I'm making a statement!! How can you play half a season and be named all Eastbay. Its unfair to players who have sacrificed and played the whole season without the extra hype.

Love in basketball

I wouldn't say 5 games is have the season, and 16pts, 6 assist, 3 steals a game would be considered hype, so those are the facts im talking about you need to get correct before you make an opinion

I dont care if he averaged 20 points and 15 assist per game, my opinion is my opinion, and you can't change that. It simply isn't warranted for a player who missed a good portion of the season other than injury to be named All Easbay.

You go from half the season,to a good portion of the season I don't understand how that equals up when it was only 5 games, they played 30 games this year as a team so that means he played in 25 of them, that doesn't add up to half a season, or a good portion of the season, but hey thats "your "opinion."lol

Damari Milstead and Moreau earned this award. This is an award based on the entire season. Voters agreed. He's a talented kid and he proved it this year. There was a team issue and Coach Knight handled it internally and in the team's mind, it's a closed issue. The kid was punished.

Was he a top 15 player in the east bay? Yes. We are becoming too much of a T-Ball society. Why can't a team beat another team 90-2? Is that what you are taught? Is that what a coach is to do, coach the best out of the team. Just show up for all the games and you win an award? There's a reason why the CEO is taking home 500,000 a year and I'm taking home 50,000 a year. If you're going by this thinking, then AlbanyHigh at 28-3 should be ranked #1 in the East Bay Poll....not O'Dowd at 28-4. Just because another kid played in 30 games, 100% of his team's games, he should be considered all east bay ahead of Milstead?

Before getting too emotional about these All East Bay or Sac All metro teams realize its not a big group of voters but one individuals opinion. The sac bee all metro is Joe davidson s all metro team and I'd bet the All east bay is Phil Jensens jinterpretation/list/team or whatever.

In the sac all metro selections , there were players that were first team all Delta league ,who were only honorable mention or who didn't even get that . At the same time there were players who made the SAC all metro who where only honorable mention in league.

H.E.A.T. I agree, very subjective on 1 or 2 reporters to make All City teams and POY. SAME WITH LEAGUE SELECTIONS, IF Coach A wins league and doesn't attend league meeting, Coach B, C, D, E, attend and vote for their players, guaranteed Coach A doesn't get all the players deserving, but Coach D gets extra.

Milstead deserves this as he will for next two years. He missed 1st 5 games so not huge impact on season, he led this team and is one of top PG in Bay Area, maybe the state. By time he is senior he will be one to watch

Lovin, Milstead is a very talented basketball player, but the fact is he's going to get way more credit than he deserves simply based on the fact that his dad (4BallersOnly) runs the Soldiers. How else can you explain him getting offered to Cal as a Freshman? Answer is they want access to the Soldier pipeline that Arizona currently enjoys. Same thing with the MLK Day event. How is he on the cover of the program instead of Frayer? Milstead is a very good player, but if you watch Moreau he's arguably the fifth best player after Frayer, Brown, Simmons and Lawrence. The fact is his last name means a lot.

NorcalBballFan,

Glad you know me and my son, but once again please get your facts correct before you give an opinion, Damari Milstead received his scholarship from Cal as a freshman when Mike Montgomery and the old staff was at Cal, and they didn't have a great relationship with the Soldiers, so I that what you stated wasn't fact, next I am not the person who runs the Soldiers Mark Olivier is and has been for the past 15 years, next 5th best player on Moreau team? like I said everyone has their own opinion but just a fyi he lead the team in scoring last year as a freshman, and was 2nd in assist and steals, and this year he was 2nd in scoring 16.1ppg lead the team in assist 5.5 and steals 3.4 so if there is 4 better players on that Moreau Catholic player then they should of been holding up the Open State Championship and not BOD, and lastly he was also on the cover of the Max Preps Holiday Classic cover but was taking off because they didn't think he was going to play because of suspension, o bye the way De LaSalle is the host of the event, they did the programs not Cal, I guess its just not a "CAL' thing.

You must not have seen a lot of Moreau games. As with any good team, point guard is the engine. This team goes as he goes. Yeah Frayer is "the guy" but Milstead is running the show. They have nice players but arguably he is 2nd best player BUT most key player. It is not his fault his dad is associated with local hoop scene. He is earning it on his merits not his dad pubbing him.
