April 6 Schedule

#1 Valley Christian-San Jose (2-0) at Leigh (0-0): The Warriors outscored San Benito 22-3 in their two opening wins.

#6 Granite Bay (4-1) at #8 Jesuit (1-1): The Grizzlies are averaging almost 10 runs per game led by senior JR Freethy (Nevada), who is 11-for-17 with nine RBI. Jesuit lost to No. 2 De La Salle (15-3) last time out.

Rocklin (4-3) at #4 Franklin-Elk Grove (5-2): Senior Chase Meggers and sophomore Jack Peterson each have 10 hits for the Thunder, which have scored at least eight runs in their wins. Sophomore Nolan Stevens has a pair of wins and a team best 13 RBI for the Wildcats.

Hillsdale (1-1) at #10 Serra (0-0): Hillsdale has a win over Mills and a loss to Sequoia heading into a trip to Serra.

Woodcreek (3-2) at Roseville (4-2): Woodcreek is 2-1 against SFL teams with wins over Oak Ridge and Del Oro. Roseville had its three game winning streak snapped on Saturday at Placer.

#9 St. Mary’s-Stockton (7-0) at Tracy (6-4): St. Mary’s senior Ben Gaff has four doubles and nine RBI. Tracy sophomore Daniel Behrmann is one of three Bulldogs with double digit hit totals. In the first meeting, St. Mary’s won 5-4.

#14 Heritage (7-0) at Pittsburg (5-1): Felix Dominguez and Carson Glavich have five of the seven wins for Heritage, which beat Pittsburg 2-1 on March 17. Pittsburg’s James Murray and Trevor Munson have combined for 25 strikeouts in 24.1 innings.

#11 Mitty (0-0) at King’s Academy (1-0): This is the first of three games this week for the Monarchs.

#19 Placer (4-2) at Oak Ridge (2-4): Placer has won four straight games since opening losses to Granite Bay and Franklin-Elk Grove. Oak Ridge sophomore Jake Fields has 10 strikeouts in 6.2 innings and picked up the win over Folsom this past weekend.

Marin Catholic (4-1) at Redwood (4-0): Redwood has given up six total runs in four games (wins over Terra Linda and San Rafael). Marin Catholic’s loss came to Drake after winning the first two games of the series.

Wood (4-0) at Rodriguez (4-1): Both teams are giving up less than four runs per game. Rodriguez split with Vacaville to start the season.

April 5 Scores

Menlo-Atherton (1-2) beat Menlo (1-2) 6-1: Menlo-Atherton senior John Quinlan had two RBI and junior Griffin Williams threw four innings of one run ball to get the win.

Sacred Heart Cathedral (2-1) beat Castro Valley (6-3) 9-7: Juniors Lucas Kelly (Arizona) had a walk-off three run homer and Colin Spear (Nevada) also homered for Sacred Heart Cathedral.. Castro Valley senior Cole Kosciusko had a home run in the loss.

Monte Vista (3-3) beat Livermore (1-5) 3-2: Junior Aidan Pelly had a home run for the Mustangs, which have won three in a row after a 0-3 start. One of the losses came to Livermore on March 27. Livermore sophomore AJ Arante had three hits and junior Matt Thompson threw a complete game.

Colusa (8-0) beat Pleasant Valley (3-1) 4-0: Drew Bradbury threw a complete game, three-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Colusa posted its third shutout. Colusa scored a pair of runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Rio Americano (1-0) beat Del Oro (2-4) 9-1: Senior Elijah Rogalski had four hits and three RBI and threw five innings of one run ball to pick up the win.
