She has committed to Stanford. She will be a junior at Mater Dei in August. So her Stanford appearance won't occur until the 21-22 season. The 6-1 point guard/point forward is a special talent, a brilliant facilitating ball-handler and shooter who makes her teammates better. The Cardinal is making headway toward getting back to the Final Four and maybe even winning a national crown in the process. West Bay women's hoops fans can hope.

I think Demetre is now taller than 6-1. She and Cameron Brink played together last weekend at SMC, and she didn't look four inches shorter than Brink. And she shoots threes. Midrange jumpers. Good passer in the high-low to Brink.

Stanford is going to be very good for the next few years -- I think Tara might delay her retirement for a while.

Stanford seems to be on a role in recruiting especially with players who have/are playing with Cal Stars.

When the Cardinal are rolling, I think it would be hard for a qualified west coast player to turn them down

...which makes the Cal coaching/recruiting job even tougher...
