Kudos to Coach Wilcox and his staff for stepping up and recruiting some of Nor Cals best talent

For the objective Cal football fan, a distressed breed for sure, the concern has to be: Are these young NorCal athletes being heavily recruited by national grid powers as well as by the Bears? If not, that's a potential personnel problem in Strawberry Canyon. Let us hope this is not the case.

Owens from Bishop O'dowd

Craig is big time. 6"6 280 with offers from almost the entire Pac 12 and other big time programs. This is a good group.
Owens has offers from a handful of Pac12 schools (UCLA, OSU, Wash St, Oregon, etc.) Another big pickup for Cal.
Both these guys are 4 star players.
Tattersal is a little less ranked but still had 15 offers+ with several Pac 12.

Great commits. Big time step in right direction.

Cal is doing it right, great job by Wilcox. Win your own backyard then branch out. Other teams should not have a stronger presence in your back yard. This will pay off big for Cal.

Funny, when you visit local schools and offer local players early, you have a better chance at keeping them home. A lesson Dykes could never fully grasp.

Great example was 2015 OL Noah Myers from Las Lomas. Wazzu offered him early and he eventually verbally committed to them. In the eleventh hour Cal came knocking with an offer, which he turned down. The irony is BOTH OF HIS PARENTS ARE CAL ALUM!!! Talk about screwing the pooch!
