Calpreps NorCal Rankings Elite 8

If you are throwing CC section's TRAL league in the mix, then you are missing #28 Clovis West. And you fudged on Del Oro - they are #37 in state... maybe that was a typo.

The real list from your link, including CS section, is as follows:

1. Serra (6 in state)
2. Folsom (8 in state)
3. St Mary's (18 in state)
4. DLS (19 in state)
5. Pitt (20 in state)
6. Clovis West (28 in state)
7. Manteca (33 in state)
8. Del Oro (37 in state)
9. Buchanan (41 in state)
10. Oak Ridge (42 in state)

SJS is dominant in this list, which I think is Pasty's point. CS is second and, although Serra is #1, CCS is last as is NCS.

Entertaining, indeed! But, all that matters is the rankings at the end. I guarantee there will, once again, be more movement. Some team(s) may fall and some team(s) may rise. Which ones? That is still TBD. Why? Because some of these teams will be playing each other before the season ends, including regular season and the playoffs. That in itself cannot be muted. Good luck to all! GO RAMS!!! 😉

Using the NorCal Rankings Elite 8 teams, we really need to use a broader measuring rule that includes multiple years view. Again we will use CalPreps - their dynasty 5 year tool and 19 year tool.

19 year Elite top 8 not including CS this time
1. De La Salle (#1 in state)
2. Folsom (#13 in state)
3. Serra (#16 in state)
4. Pittsburg (#24 in state)
5. Valley Christian (#25 tied in state)
6. Del Oro (#31 in state)
7. Granite Bay (#33 tied in state)
8. St, Mary's (#35 in state)

5 year Elite top 8 not including CS this time
1. De La Salle (#5 in state) losing momentum in state and Norcal, probably due to coaching changes
2. Folsom (#7 in state) closing the gap to # 1 in NorCal
3. Serra (#12 in state) closing the gap to #2 in NorCal
4. Pittsburg (#29 in state) holding steady in state and NorCal
5. Monterey Trail (#32 in state) losing some in NorCal
6. St. Mary's (#39 tied in state) gaining in NorCal, holding steady in state
7. McClymonds (#39 tied in state) gaining significantly both in state and NorCal due to head coach changes
8. St. Francis (#42 in state) gaining in state and in NorCal due to head coach changes

Valley Christian (#50 in state) - losing ground significantly probably due to DC and Line coach changes that appear now to be the previous backbone of success.
Del Oro (#76 in state) - losing ground significantly probably due to head coach changes
Granite Bay (#83 in state) losing ground - why? help me, I don't know...

I would agree with this so far. Elite 8 baby!

1. Serra (6 in state)
2. Folsom (8 in state)
3. St Mary's (18 in state)
4. DLS (19 in state)
5. Pitt (20 in state)
6. Manteca (33 in state)
7. Del Oro (27 in state)
8. Buchanan (41 in state)
Actually, Clovis West is 28th in the state and should be ahead of Buchanan. Clovis West is undefeated, has a win against Buchanan, and is the top rated team in the Central section. Buchanan played earlier this year at Escalon, a small school power but probably a third the size of Buchanan, and Buchanan barely escaped 41-40 in overtime. Escalon subsequently lost to Hilmar and Hughson. Apparently Escalon's wing-T offense gave Buchanan fits.

Good catch. The Fresno area has always intrigued me. Teams that don't get a lot of looks in CA, but def some quality ball being played down there.
