CIF SoCal Bracket

Anybody want to create what a projected NorCal Open bracket would have been?
And how the games would have played out in the North?

Rough guess of how it could go. 7-8 could go to a few different teams

1. St. Mary's
2. Pinewood
3. Mitty
4. Salesian
5. Antelope
6. San Ramon Valley
7. Carondelet
8. St. Ignatius

The drop off after 3 in this bracket would be insane. The 1-8, 2-7, 3-6 would all most likley be 30 plus point demolitions

My feeling before COVID hit was that the balance of power was going to shift south, and that certainly seems to be true. There are more elite players, and deeper teams, down south this year.

What made you think that, Clay? Was it for this year and/or going forward?

First, there are a lot more people in SoCal, so the odds of there being more good girls' basketball players is higher -- but really, it goes in cycles everywhere, and right now, NorCal seems down to me from its best years, and SoCal has the stars. Of course it will shift eventually, and with COVID, we lost sight of the young players coming up, so we really won't know where we stand until next year at this time -- but I'm guessing the balance of power remains tilted to the south.

Clovis West (20-0) vs Corona Centennial (23-1)
Mater Dei (20-0) vs Cathedral Catholic (20-3)
we are set Thursday night Semis
Last time Demetre had 31 Brady had 14
MD won 67 to 64
