CIF State Bowl (Small Open): Central Catholic 56 San Marino 21 FINAL

Hunter Petlansky keeps it on the rollout for a 17 yard TD run. Central Catholic leads 7-0 with 727 left in Q1

Central Catholic with the ball back at its own 44 yard line. Raiders defense is very aggressive bringing a lot of pressure of different spots.

Nice defense down the field by Justin Rice on deep ball attempt.

San Marino really covering well on the back end. Central Catholic forced to punt on its second possession,

San Marino gets a 74 yard TD pass to even the score at 7 less than a minute into Q2.

SM needs to win down the field when they get one-on-one looks. CC is loading up against the run.

It's a brother connection for Central Catholic. Petlansky to Petlansky for 22 yards and the Raiders take a 14-7 lead

Petlansky now has thrown for two scores and ran for one too as CC leads 21-7 with 255 left in the half.

He should well in the Ivy League, which seems to pull quality players every year from the area.

The TWC announcers are discussing the building of a program by transfers. What in the world is the Southern Section doing that gets these announcers to think all of CA is like this. They seem to think that Central Catholic might have a lot of transfers... They just don't seem to know of the tight rules of transferring in SJS.

Looks like we have a game. 21-14. Nice answer by San Marino. I still don't see them beating CC. (At least not from what I've seen)

San Marino hits on a deep ball on third down and ends up scoring with 17 seconds left in the half to narrow the deficit to 21-14.

The announcers have about 5 talking points per game and hit those over and over again

Central Catholic size will take over in the 2nd half. San Marino is staying in it for now but can't see them matching up in the trenches for 2 more quarters. CC pulls away comfortably.

CC is a lot better than San Marino. I wouldn't be surprised if they blow em out in 2nd half. Honestly I think CC is the 2nd best team in NorCal behind DLS. You could make a strong case.

Pick 6 for CC and it will be 35-14 Central Catholic.

Larry called this one. The rout looks like it has begun.

Justin Rice scores his 2nd TD and CC leads 42-14. We are headed to a running clock at some point. Raiders have come out with an edge in the second half

Streak just really impressed with CC. Bland is only a jr as well. That is scary. Perfect team. a few d1 kids and a bunch of tough HS players. Top it off well coached.

Second Pick 6 for the Raiders. Now they lead 49-14.

28 points in 8 minutes for CC.

Super impressive what CC has done in this four year run. They would play competitive games and win a lot of the, against anyone but DLS this year.

They look to me like the second best team in Northern California.

CC is beastly!! I feel better now about MC getting manhandled by them, they didn't stand a chance

Line play both ways is the difference. CC getting a good push both offensively and defensively while it's the opposite for San Marino. CC should end up with over 300 yards rushing by games end.

Ok, you follow this stuff- Would you take them over Bellarmine , Folsom, Del Oro, and Clayton Valley? I would. Well coached, physical, athletic, can actually pass.

This year's team yes, them and DO right now would be a fun matchup

This team could probably handle D2 but it appears that they will lose a lot to grad. I believe Bland (LB) not corner will probably be the featured back next season.

All that at a co-ed school of 350. Their run is likely over with a move to D2 next year. Great job.

Their run was likely over even without the bump to D2. Even with this team the D3 final was a very competitive game for them.
