Granada beat Valley Christian-SJ 70-39

Dougherty Valley beat San Leandro 67-45

San Ramon Valley beat American Canyon 65-48

Clayton Valley Charter beat Berkeley 63-52

Moreau Catholic beat Newark Memorial 83-36

University beat Piedmont 85-74

Branson beat Marin Catholic 78-45

Woodcreek beat Chico 69-66

Modesto Christian beat Oakland 55-46

Franklin-EG beat Granite Bay 63-44

Inderkum beat Elk Grove 70-30

Some of those scores are surprisingly lopsided. Not so much who won, but Marin Catholic, Elk Grove, Valley Christian & Newark all getting clobbered by more than 30!

Marin Catholic has been land blasted on several occasions so far. Not sure if they are waiting for football or if they are down that bad. Branson has done that to almost everybody though.
Montgomery improved to 6-1 with 64-55 win over Vallejo. There 1 loss was a blowout by Branson also.
Newman will likely square off against St Francis in Rose City Champ sat. They are 6-0 but haven’t played a great preseason.

Elk Grove is awful…. They lost everyone from last years team.

Granada was missing Harris (sick) and another starter (ankle), and played the second half without McKeever (knee tweak, looked fine at the half) and still won big

We'll get a good gauge on Branson come Dec 8th when they play Campo up at Gridley. Riordan awaits the winner unless Gridley pulls the huge upset :) .

MC added six guys to the varsity roster on Monday from football. They had one 90 minute practice before playing Branson. They'll eventually stabilize but Branson is an elite team in NorCal that I think is being underrated a bit in rankings.

I watched that Montgomery vs Vallejo game on NFHS. Vallejo was up 53-39 with 3:30 left. Montgomery went to a 1-3-1 and Vallejo had no answer. Montgomery made a layup with 2 seconds left to send it to OT at 55-55. Montgomery held Vallejo scoreless in OT to win 64-55. They closed that game on a 25-2 run.

Ok that makes better sense. I figured football was a big impact and agree about Branson. They are going to make a lot of folks miserable this year.

Montgomery has a consistently nice program. They ran into a good SRV team last year in NCS. I would say it’s Monty, Newman, Windsor and a big drop off after that in the redwood empire. Def not a good all around look.
