After battling with Venmo for 10 minutes to no avail, I was helped by the staff to get to my bank account and FINALLY get in…

Anyway, halfway thru the first q, YV leads Branson 10-6.

21-17 YV, 5:28 left in the 2nd q. YV’s coach seems quite unhappy with the Wolves’ play. But they are up by 4. Branson seemed a bit overwhelmed by YV’s speed at first, but they have settled down.

Halftime, it’s 36-24 YV. Branson looks a bit overmatched. Unfortunately, they aren’t operating the full-stats part of the scoreboard.

A quick glance at the sheet showed balanced scoring for YV, and Branson’s Chae Robertson ad 9 for Branson, 7 of those 9 coming at the line.

Suddenly, it’s a ball game…. 44-42 YV after Branson hits a 3, then a steal and layup. 1:03 left 3rd quarter..

Kiddman are these streamed at all? Make sure to get up and wiggle your legs around a little between breaks and thanks for the updates. My cardinals will be playing a good Santa Cruz team.

Streaming is on BallerTV. No idea whether they are carrying it live…. but if so, I think it’s a pay-per-view service.

28-17 after 1 q, SI in front…. VERY impressive.

#5 Raymond Whitley, #21 Steele Labagh stand out, also their center Alex Moore, a 6’8” freshman.

And they play as a team, share the ball well…. Quite the well-oiled machine for November.

Whitley commits his 4th foul…. Let’s see how SI handles this…. Meanwhile, Vanden has been getting better throughout. Still, SI leads 58-49, 1:06 left 3rd.

61-50 SI after 3 quarters.

One thing I’ve noticed (as have a lot of people), this floor is quite slippery.

72-60 SI, 2:25 left. It seems that slippery-floor thing has gone away now. Maybe it was cold, foggy weather or something, and as the players ran around, the slipperiness went away…. Whitley is back to help SI salt this one away.

And he has scored twice more…. 80-60 final. SI looks excellent. Obvious choice for game MVP…. 28 points.

Santa Cruz went 27-7 and was the NorCal champ in D3 last year, and Newman was 26-4, losing in the North Coast division. 2 final (or maybe semi’s).

15-11 Santa Cruz after 1 quarter. Newman started slow last night before winning, can they do it again?

25-22 Santa Cruz at the half.

Kurpinsky leads Newman with 12 points, and
Liam Jones leads Santa Cruz with 11.

Newman has finally sunk a couple of outside shots, but Santa Cruz is holding them off, lead 55-44 with 33 seconds left.

That’s the final. Player of the Game: DeMarco Hunter of Santa Cruz… 6’6” wing with 21 points (I thnk I heard) and 5 swats.

Next up: Clayton Valley Charter v. Weston Ranch.

Can CVC slow down these speedballs? In any case, they’ll need more offense than what they showed last night.

I’ve given up on the play-by-play-ish stuff except for Campo games…. Just too tough on my eyes, fingers, etc. I keep missing plays, all that…

But for Campo, I’ll be a bit more like usual. :)

Weston Ranch is 0-1, but the loss was by 3 to Clovis North. CVC won last night, 37-27 over Beverly Hills.

Just a couple plays into the game, Perryman tweaks an ankle…. looks like he’ll stay in, tho..

Obviously, Perryman’s ankle is just fine…. Moving to the hoops just great on a couple of twisting drives. I think basketballs have some sort of magic medicine in them…. Tweak an ankle, limp around a bit, then get the ball and everything’s fine. :)

29-21 at the half. Perryman’s been a beast, has 11 points, a good number of rebounds, a couple steals…

Darrion Lilly of Weston Ranch counters with 14 points of his own.
