Great game tonight at DLS. SRV battled DLS close all game long. The score was tied at 55, and SRV had the ball hoping to get the last shot, and either win the game or force OT.
Once it got inside about 10 seconds, SRV dribbled towards the top of the key to try to set up the last shot. A DLS player (I think it was Haggerty) poked the ball loose and threw it down court to a streaking Monawar for a DLS layup to seal the victory with an incredible finish.

EBAL Standings

Dublin 3-0 (14-6)
De La Salle 3-1 (14-6)

Monte Vista 1-2 (14-6)
Foothill 1-2 (13-7)
Amador Valley 1-2 (11-8)
San Ramon Valley 0-3 (16-4)
Livermore 0-4 (9-12)

@Streak One Do you think EBAL will get 3 or 4 teams into NCS Open? Last was all EBAL & DFAL teams. Salesian and Branson are only 2 I can see breaking into NCS Open but Branson lost to 2 DFAL teams in Campo and CVC

Cardinal Newman (20-1), Branson (16-2), Clayton Valley Charter (17-2), University (17-3), Campolindo (13-5), and Salesian (13-6) are all currently in the top 10 for NCS per MaxPreps rankings.

I’m a Newman guy but they would struggle with most of these teams excluding University .(who I know is good)

And it's getting difficult to grab tickets at EBAL games.

My first choice for tomorrow was Dublin @ DLS, but I never found tix available on GoFan and settled for Granada @ California

I think it will come down to these schools: Dougherty, DLS, SRV, Dublin, Granada, Cal, Campo, Clayton Valley, Branson and Salesian.

My guess is four from EBAL, Salesian and Campo/CVC. Interesting wrinkle is Branson having the win over Dublin becuase I don't think the NCS will want to put Branson in the Open if they can avoid it

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Dougherty pounded Livermore last night 89-41.

I've got to think SRV will destroy AV tonight, taking out all their frustrations of the 0-3 league start on the poor Dons. MV should handle Foothill at home, and I see Granada getting some revenge on Cal for the Grizz knocking them off in the SRV tourney in December. The Dublin-DLS game should be a doozy. If DLS is able to beat West Linn, SRV & Dublin all in the same week, that would be something. Luckily, they got them all at home.

Max Preps loves CN...Don't sleep on the Cardinals! Their only loss was to a very strong Windsor team that I think can hang with anyone in the section on a great shooting night.

Some more great EBAL games tonight!

Dublin broke a 71-71 tie in the final minute to top SRV on the road 75-71.

DLS edged Granada 59-57 on a last second block by Alec Blair.

Cal snuck past Foothill on the road 49-47.

Dougherty, playing without Beasley who was injured in the 3rd quarter against Notre Dame over the weekend, clobbered Amador Valley 79-56.

Monte Vista feasted on an outmanned Livermore 78-35.

Any word if Beasley is out longer than just this game?

It sounds like he may miss this whole week. I believe it’s an ankle. They need him healthy for the playoff run, and the showdown with DLS next week.
Damn ankle injuries suck big-time! They can linger forever hopefully it's just a slight tweak for him / DV.

Great game at SRV tonight as well, as SRV held off Granada 61-60. Granada had a 3 pointer go in and out in the final seconds and the rebound just eluded McKeever’s reach. SRV was up most of the game, by as many as 17 in the 2nd quarter, but Granada fought back and finally took the lead in the final 4 minutes. The lead swung back and forth several times until sophomore Luke Isaak put the Wolves up for good with 6 seconds left.

Incredible depth w/i the league - they'll make some noise in the NorCals especially lower divisions if the whole league doesn't all get dumped in the Open and DI. Can't recall if there are strict boundaries around league records in order to qualify for the NCS playoffs.

I believe in order to qualify for the NCS playoffs, a team has to have at least a .500 record either 1) Overall, 2) in their league, or 3) versus teams in their enrollment division.
Theoretically, all 10 teams in the EBAL could make the playoffs. As of today, every team has at least a .500 record overall except division 2 Livermore, and they might have a .500 record against Division 2 teams? But Amador Valley is right at .500 with 3 games to play, and not likely to win 2 more league games. Foothill is 13-10 overall with 3 games left, so they will qualify, but if the D1 bracket is full they might not go.
I see all 7 other teams making either the Open or D1 playoff brackets, D2 in the case of SRV.

No doubt best year I can recall with such parity. 7 teams that can defeat each other, on any given night. I see the top two either thru NCS Championship or at large bids going to the Open. NCS likely unless one of the top two teams from the EBAL win the NCS, will have 3 NorCal Open teams. Goodluck to all those hoopsters rolling in the hills.

EBAL action 1/28

Dougherty Valley beat Cal 59-46.
Monte Vista topped AV 60-46.
SRV won their 2nd straight EBAL contest 63-40 over Foothill.
DLS fell to 26-1 Harvard-Westlake 63-42.
In the marquis game of the night, Dublin outlasted Granada 67-60.
