Kind of shocking but maybe NOT....Esquer was their third choice. "They" first went after Erik Bakich from Michigan and then Jim Schlossnagle from TCU. Both interviewed but declined.

I would say FILTER is out due to Esquer bringing his guy with him. The two Stanford assistants - if they can co-exist with the CAL guys then I think it may be a smooth transition.

My post above was incorrect.... Stanford's #1 was Bakich but their number 2 was Kirk Saarloos (not Schlossnagle) from TCU.
