Word is Folsom's Jake Browning is going to be U. of Washington's starting QB. Their 1st freshman ever to start. Congrats to Jake. Wish him well.

Amazing accomplishment to start at a D1 school as a true freshman. Congrats to Jake!

Excited to see him play on ESPN, next Friday! Go Jake! #BullDogNation

Outstanding. Good for him and Folsom. I will certainly tune in to more UW games this season. You gotta love the one hour replays of the Pac12 games on their network if you are unable to watch the games live.

Perfect plan for Browning. Go to a school where you have a head coach who thinks like a QB because he was one. Peterson wanted Browning period. Browning is the real deal. Has all the tools necessary to excel at this level and the next. Just proves my point about all this Elite 11 stuff is mainly overhype garbage. All I remember reading about was KJ Carter Samuels arm strength coming out of Bellarmine. But guess what. They passed like 10x a game. Browning had that many completions by early 2nd qtr.

I had a feeling he would start this year, despite the reports of a red shirt. Even if he has a tough first year, he's gonna be a stud at that level sooner than later.

Jake Browning was a fortunate kid to have Troy Taylor as his personal coach for years ... Troy knows the game of football and has built one of the best programs in NorCal.

As for E11, it has the sports marketing power of ESPN, Nike, and Gatorade ... nothing else needs to be said.

I am very excited to see Jake on ESPN Friday night. Let's just hope his offensive line is halfway decent...

Actually I think Jake Locker started as a true freshman also

Going to be a tough learning curve. Washington does not look good. And Browning just threw an INT.

Its a process...

This is crazy. Washington cant run and Browning has thrown the ball more than 5 yards about once and they still might win.

He played great. His team was suspect. Too many freshman lol. Wide right!

He really settled in after halftime. Washington is going to be good next year. This year will be a lot of growing pains.

Ya they were awfully conservative with him. I guess rightfully so as a true freshman. He did well. Hats off to him.

Yeah, umm, ok. I watched the game too bro. The D held Boise to 16. That's about the only thing Washington did well. Still, that's a tough game to play at that speed the first time out. Good to see him out there balling though.

That team is going to be really good in a year or two. Fun game to watch tonight either way.

Thought Browning played well, all things considered. He really started to look good on the last drive when they were in hurry up. Same tempo he played with at Folsom. Perhaps they should think about going that route going forward?

I thought it was a bit of a mistake to spike the ball on 3rd down. I would have like to have seen them take advantage of the chaos and take a shot at the end zone. If it's not open, throw it into the 3rd row of seats -- then you can still line up for the FG.

Also, I didn't agree with the announcers that the last sack was on Browning. Pressure came right up the middle almost immediately after the snap. Nothing really he could do on that play. He can't throw it away, as he was in the pocket and would get a 15-yard penalty, and you don't want him making a mistake and throwing an INT there -- so eating it was the only option.

For a true freshman playing his 1st game on the road against a ranked team and with youth and inexperience all around him, he did fine.

I thought he did great as well. I was getting fired up at the end because I felt he looked more comfortable in the up tempo hurry up offense. I thought they were going to let that ride out, but ultimately chose to play it a bit conservative.

Lots of stuff to build on. Tough place to play on your first experience as the man at UW. Excited to see what the future holds...

LOL at the dumb announcers. At one point in the first half they said Browning had to adjust to playing on a blue field for the first time. Hello, McFly! Browning has work to do, but definitely showed he can play Pac-12 ball. Let's see how my UCLA Bruins do today with Josh Rosen.

I laughed when I hear that too. Did they not know he played his whole HS career on blue turf!? SMH

I thought Browning was fine. He looks the part well. I think he completed his first 5 or 6 passes. Boise is really good at home as well. It won't be long before Peterson has another coach on the field.

Josh Rosen from UCLA is in a different league. I know UCLA is an elite team this year but that kid is going to be making a lot of money soon. He was incredible today against Virginia. All the gifts. Great arm, size, smarts, mobile enough, etc. Look up his stats. Scary.

Kyler Murray (Texas A&M) is in the game right now. Showed some of his speed a few plays ago.

In fairness, there was a huge difference between line protection and a complimentary running game. Had Rosen played QB for Washington last night, it is doubtful that his numbers would have looked any better than Browning's.

I agree thunder. UCLA looks the part of a top 10 team or better. Wash is in a rebuilding mode. But Rosen is pretty dang good. Even when he missed on a few occasions it wasn't by much and a couple of times the receivers should have come up with it.

Let's not judge on one game. :);)

Give it a few years and we can compare fully :)

He has a much better team.

Get off the donkey! LOL ;)

Let's reserve judgement and not let out "homerism" take over.

Yes, Rosen's team is much better. The better team recruited the better QB. You may have the luxury of waiting years to make a talent judgment from your couch, but coaches don't. ;)
