Actually I think the STA / SL game will be a great match up assuming all key players are in the game.

Its the Marietta / ESC game that seems like a huge, lopsided match up to me.

Rumor has it that two more states are going to sign on with the Geico bowl series
To quote the head of Paragon “One will be a game changer”
My money is on California joining
They have been talking for a few years now

That guy at Paragon is a dope :D

I'm watching this now, hoping the game doesn't run long (but it will, I'm sure). Would MUCH rather watch St. Mary's hoops at 9:30 over this...

Anyway, Aquinas is looking like the monsters they were at DLS back in September.

Oh, crap... Yet another guy goes down... This is a loud argument for shortening the football season.

STA has shut down SL in the 3rd quarter. They are getting pressure on the SL QB so he can't make the the quick passes.

STA 21-19 half
STA 35-19 end of 3Q
If SL loses this game, it will be their first loss since Sept, 2016.

STA will win - 35-19. Record 15-0, first undefeated season since 2010.

There are only 2 “GameChanger” States left which are CA and TX.... I can’t see TX taking part in this so I think you are right about CA....

Right Now it Takes 15 games to win the open title so there is room for 1 more game...

Not a Huge Fan though.... I Think 14-15 games and a State Championship is enough for HS kids.... I hope Cali doesn’t get involved in this....

I hope they do.They play 16 games already and have before not a big deal
As far as Texas goes if they don’t get involved they will never be considered for a MNC again.California and Florida will have a stranglehold on it

I’m with you. I can only see this being supported by the ‘transfer team’ proponents who want to turn high school football into college and those who will make money from it.

Even Coach Negro From SJB said he was not in Favor of the End of Year Geico games and didn’t see any reason why the CIF would allow teams to play during a Recent Q&A on the National Board....

I just don’t see the Need for it, the games are ok but not great.... Plus Our Best Teams in CA that play for the Open play National Schedules in the Pre Season anyway....

he also said if allowed they would play.
If you want to see something resembling a HS National championship game then California and Texas need to get on board. The games are not that great because those two states are not there. If they were then we would have had the pleasure of seeing SJB,North Shore,STA and Marietta........Those games would have been excellent entertainment

I agree with all your points, the only way you have a True National Champ is if CA, TX, FL and GA are involved....

I personally just don’t think HS Kids should play more then 14-15 games.... It seems like too much... A state champ in CA or TX is playing 15-16 Games.... Other States are all 13-14 or less.... FL and GA are both 15 games...

So if a 16 game Schedule to Crown a National Champ is the goal, then I do believe CA would join before TX because only the Open Champ would be going anyway...

But no way TX would join and play a 17th game... They would have to Alter their playoffs and even-though they should alter their Bloated playoff Brackets at the top level, that is not their style...:)
