Probably not a great idea to be in full gear with 112 degrees on turf. Other local schools were in full gear for hours on end leading to more hospital visits.
Clearly ridiculous to have kids padded up in 115’ temperatures. That stated, curious what “other local schools” had players taking “hospital visits”?
I know of a other SFL team that is doing 6am-8am this week. Much smarter. Also some are doing no pads and light walk thru style. Hope kid is ok.
Poor silverton Oregon has to play oak ridge in honor bowl Friday which is a early evening start. They pushed it back to 530 because it was 4pm! Will be a nice 107 at game time. I expect a running clock in 3rd.

Elk Grove Unified S. D. has stated that all games must start at 7:30 pm or later. Monterey Trail has moved the start of their Freshman game to 7:30 pm tonight. Varsity will host Merced at 7:30 pm Friday.
The JV game will no longer be played against Merced, but a match-up has been scheduled with Sheldon JV for 10 am Saturday morning. I'm assuming there were busing issues for Merced and Acalanes on a Saturday morning. Works out well for Sheldon and MT. The schools are 3 miles apart--no need for buses. Mom-and-pop transportation services will be enough.

Saturday does look considerably cooler but now we have smoke issues from the mosquito fire. Can’t catch a break but next week drops big time. 🙏🏻
Yeah, looks like after this week long stretch of ridiculous heat we might be in the clear.
2-week forecast shows 91 on Saturday then bouncing between low 90’s and low 80’s through the 22nd.
Heard it reached 116 the other day. That’s AZ and Vegas level of heat. If that doesn’t signal a climate change IDK what does.
Anyway, it’s looking positive that the ridiculousness is over after tomorrow.
