Honoring Dante Benedetti in North Beach

Good baseball event coming up on October 30 to honor Dante Benedetti. The event will take place at the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club.

The keynote speakers for Nino Girratano and Augie Garrido. Proceeds from the event go to the Junior Giants and the USF baseball program.

Dante was the reason many kids not only played baseball from 12 to 20 years of age but also the reason most kids had a place to eat or enough spending money to take their girl friend out for pizza. Dante had one front pocket that was much larger than the other one.

The entire Benedetti Family is special especially brother Don Benedetti and grandson Whaylan.

Dante Benedetti is one person that could honestly say at the end of his life that he gave all of himself for the betterment of others. I feel for the young people who never had the opportunity to meet the man. Its for those who knew him to share his love of baseball and giving back to the community in any manner.
