There were some surprises, such as Salesian and Dublin losing in the first round. I have always said, It doesn’t matter who the team is, if you don’t play well you will lose. We welcomed De La Salle coming back to the GIBT after a 34 year hiatus.

Jay Olsen’s scoring record for Gridley had a real attempt at breaking this record that has stood for 53 years.
Courtney Anderson missed a three point shot at the Buzzer that would have put the game into overtime. And would have given him 100 points. Into overtime, another six points would have shattered the record.
Olsen’s record was done before the three point line was established. The last player to have threatened the record was Stephon Harris from Luther Burbank. He was at 104 points and his shot rimed out at the buzzer. Crowed went crazy.

A tournament Queen was crowned. It is a tradition dating back to the first Gibt. It’s an old school pageantry. It's small town hospitality welcoming crowds, housing players, seeing old friends.

It is my honor to help make this tournament what it is. There is nothing quite like it. You just have to come, and see for yourself.

Here’s wishing you great hoops

Congrats to campo there chemistry with each
Other is rock solid.Riordan looked much better then they did a week earlier. They played 2 really good games before running out of steam in the championship. The best player over the 3 days was clearly anderson from dublin he averaged 30 a game and did it very Smoothly!

You are indeed correct.
Darrell Tucker did indeed go to Mac.
I wrote in the wrong name. When I looked in my records he was the year ahead. It was Stephon Harris from Burbank. I will correct my post. Thanks for the
heads up.

Here's wishing you great hoops

only thing I can think of, is Yes, the games count, but No, they don't count in league standings (and most of these games are played before the league games, or used to). This last thing has changed a good bit in the last few years due to things like MLK showcases and others, but old habits die hard. Non-league is a better term, I agree completely.

Thanks to everyone who worked to stream the games online! Watched lots of Friday and Saturday's action from the press box at Saddleback.
