In all fairness- Folsom did not earn the open bid prior to last night.

But it begs the question after the Folsom stunner and dominant defense in the win over DLS AT DLS.

Is NorCal sending its best team to the open this year?

Welcome all logical POVs

Folsom lost a few players to injury last night. Who are they and how will it affect them against CC

A lot of us would feel a whole lot more comfortable with the Serra decision if the team were entirely healthy. Without Mahasin, for one, the Padres are somewhat diminished.

To be fair, Serra did beat SF without Mahasin.

I actually wonder how Folsom would have done against SF and/or Serra?

IMHO I don't think it would ever be good to send a 3 loss team to the open, unless it's a team from the Southern Section Trinity league.

I think with how Folsom is playing RIGHT NOW, Folsom beats both teams.

Middle of the year- different story.

I actually think Folsom would lose big to both teams.

Middle of the year Folsom would have been blown out by both teams.

SF was actually blowing DLS out and then DLS came back to make it a game. Serra is just a different animal right now, Serra's defense attacked SF offense in the CCS Championship game but before that SF had run (literally) right threw everyone. Folsom pulled it off last night but I don't think DLS or Folsom could beat Serra or SF this year.

False- as of right now, Folsom beats BOTH those teams, and I don't think it's close.

Doubt it, Folsom was the second team to beat DLS this season. Granite Bay & Rocklin wouldn't stack up to Serra or SF and both beat Folsom. Serra & SF both got better as well (see; CCS Championship game).

I am proud of all of these kids including Folsom, but I know Folsom couldn't beat Serra or SF this season. Looks easy until you have to step on the field with one of those teams (Serra/SF).

Good luck in D1 Folsom, I am pulling for all of our NorCal teams.

After I saw what Folsom did physically to Rocklin AND DLS on back to back weeks, no WCAL team is beating Folsom. No chance.

People said the same thing about a NorCal team beating DLS after all those decades "no chance", and a WCAL team was the first to do it. People also said Folsom had "no chance" last night.

Bottom line; you would think people would learn...

Also regarding the WCAL, didn't Bellarmine provide the only loss for an outstanding Central Catholic unit during the pre-season? My memory has been severely warped by the onslaught of CIF bowl games. Someone help out here.

Good point as Yes Bellarmine the 3rd ranked team in WCAL handed Central Catholic [13-1] their only loss of the season 28-21. This is the same Bellarmine team Serra defeated 41-7 in regular season and again 41-0 in the CCS Div I semi-final.
Going back to 2015 the WCAL Champ Bellarmine traveled to and upset Folsom 42-35 to win the NorCal regional D1-AA and end the Bulldogs 43-game home win streak.

Whoa whoa f’ing whoa. HUH. Ok Patsy let’s get real here.

You rode our leagues coat tails with the St Francis beat DLS, Serra beat St Francis, Serra belongs in the open period and suddenly you are saying Folsom is the best team in Nor Cal. Is that what I am comprehending. Are you serious right now. Please tell me you are half ass joking.

You rode it so hard you said DLS was playing for the bowl that meant nothing, on another thread you said you were just mocking DLS, but suddenly Folsom is playing for all the marbles and the team plying in the open, NO CHANCE.

Dude do you ever read what you write. It is so contradictory it’s hilarious. Nobody on this board hates Folsom. They hate you because of the nonsense that comes from your fingers touching a keyboard.

If DLS won 28-27, you would fill us with BS about how they are playing in crap bowl still and would pound the Serra poms poms. But suddenly nobody in the WCAL has a chance.

Max preps goes back to 2004, Folsom has never ever played the WCAL in the preseason since that time.

To Folsom, I truly hope this is the only clown fan you all have. He gives you all a bad name. Good luck next weekend, bring a state trophy to the north

If you SAW what Folsom did to Rocklin, you would understand.

I am guessing you SAW what Folsom did to DLS (dominated on both sides), because you said the entire basketball team showed up to laugh at Folsom.

Based on how Folsom is playing RIGHT NOW: No WCAL team is stopping them. No chance.

The 2015 argument when Bellarmine beat Folsom is not a good one. That was actually one of Folsom's worst teams in the last decade, QBd with a WR lol

How could that be one of the worst Folsom teams in a decade. You said they are by far the best public school in the last 10 years. Bellarmine lost to Mitty that same season who was 6-5. And that wasn’t preseason by the way. So why bring yo Bellarmine. Put Serra, St Francis, and anyone else on the preseason schedule year after year. How about we start there

Winning 28-27 is NOT dominating on both sides of the ball. Patsy, you weren't at the game so how would you know if Folsom "dominated on both sides"?
DLS got manhandled on both sides of the ball.

They're scores were off fumbles and trick plays.

They couldn't move the ball against a soft public school defense, and Folsom controlled the clock at will in the 2nd half.

Athletes and physicality up front won out. Own it.

The QB was a WR re-tread. Let that sink in.

And it took a literal miracle for the Bells to win. Doesn't matter though. Bells earned it.

Folsom is still better than any WCAL team this year.

So what your saying is you putting Serra in the open and saying DLS had no right to be in it, Folsom is suddenly better than Serra after a 1 point win. Yet Serra is the one playing in the big one. Do you see how you shoot your own credibility. Everything you say week by week contradicts the week before damn near every week. You bring some good stuff, I will admit that. But suddenly the team you pulled out the poms poms from our league would get beat as well. Schedule and book it. Cause I guarantee Rocklin and Granite Bay wouldn’t come close to beating Serra or St Francis. And what’s sad, is if De La won 29-28 you would not even. So keep your quality but at the same time flush your agenda. Cause your agenda flushes your credibility tremendously. And that is why your statement Folsom is better than any WCAL team is super suspect, cause now your basically saying they are the best team in Nor Cal.

He's just saying that Folsom is playing better than anyone In NorCal right this minute, and Folsom beating DLS gives some legitimacy to that POV.Rocklin would present a challenge though, though I wouldn't say they'd win. Granite Bay, this year, wouldn't beat either Serra or SF

Sorry ain’t buying it. You win by 1 point as a fan. You rode the coat tails of Serra the last couple weeks of the season. After St Francis pounded Serra, St Francis beat DLS, then Serra gets on bye in round 2. So now all of the sudden the toilet bowl, whatever it was classified as until this last win, Folsom is the best team in Nor Cal. Perfect reason moving forward to schedule the big boys from out of state and within Nor Cal if indeed that’s now the claim to fame every preseason moving forward.

Exactly. Crazy how people lose their shit with a legit argument.

“Dominated“ DLS? Folsom needed 4 turnovers to hang on to a 1 point win. Not dominating in anyway but a nice win for the program.
Yes, dominated ON THE LINES. Context.

DLS needed two trick plays and a botched fumble car for 3 scores.

A very nice win indeed. :)
