Mitty 90 Presentation 8 (not a typo)

Such scores are not so rare anymore. Monterrey Trail has an 89-3 victory in the books. There are other teams with wide margin wins. Didn’t see the games so don’t know how they got there. One can only hope it was not a full court press and breakaway layup’s.

If you did not attend this debacle or watch it online, how do you know precisely what happened? For all we know, the final score could have been 122-2 if precautions had not been taken (if they were taken). The Presentation program is but a shell of its former self. And Mitty is, well, Mitty. That's a formula for grotesque imbalance no matter how we care to slice it.

I have seen the 70-14 range a fair bit. There is a much bigger gap on the girls side and it happens in league quite a bit. The teams need to play and get their work in. Strong team’s second team can be better than their starters. It is a bummer and not actually that fun for the better teams either. Funny enough I saw SI lay one of those scores on St. Joe’s. It was brutal.

Hilarious… anybody want to go to that Mitty vs Folsom game and stream it for us
Folsom hasn’t played nearly the schedule AMHS has played. OR just a tad short against Folsom 42-37 other night. I say Mitty by 8-10 and Folsom gets first loss of season.

Folsom’s 2 bigs are both out with injuries right now- that will certainly impact the game today. Oak Ridge is successful because they make the game slow and ugly, and they especially know how to do that against their neighboring rivals, Folsom.

Most teams have players with injuries, part of the game. No excuses.....

Seen Folsom but not Mitty (in person) this year. Folsom pressures well to create turnovers but I don’t think Mitty will have a problem against the pressure. The question for me is how will Folsom handle Mitty’s pressure. I will take Mitty by double digits.

Mitty could have easily gone triple digits, Sue has been, and will always be a class act.
Presentation is in a tough spot, with many factors. Biggest factor, Wade is gone. Most
of the Presentation girls took the year or year and a half off. Note, during their own shootout
in December the team was down to 5 or 6 players. Unfortunately lopsided losses may be
the season outlook for them.

Here's the Mitty/Pres game: .

It could have been much much worse. Mitty stopped pressing after about five minutes, had the last players on its bench in the game after six minutes (the starters played sparingly after that), and stopped fast breaks after the first quarter.

I can't imagine that game was much fun for Mitty either. I'm certain their JV would've thumped Pres. Guessing its freshmen would too.

Unfortunately it looks like the scandals hurt Prez. It would be nice to see Coach Alexis bring more talent in and turn it around.

I don’t think anyone was making excuses. A Folsom win would have been a tall order anyway, but without their 2 bigs extremely unlikely. Yes, especially this year everyone has players missing throughout the season. You just hope everyone is available come playoff time.

Presentation got beat by Lynbrook 61-15. It appears this blowout is much more about Presentation than how Mitty played.

Looks like Mitty beat Folsom 68-39. I was thinking Folsom might be a top 4 or 6 Norcal Open Division seed. But after this, I'm not totally sure they belong in the Open Division.

Need 2 from each section for 6. SMS and Folsom are the 2 best in SJS.

That's just a taste of what CCS publics have endured from Mitty, Pinewood and some of the other top section privates for more than 30 years. It's not pretty in Silicon Valley and beyond.

Maybe a full 8 team bracket this year? Seems a little more balanced than prior seasons.

SMS & Folsom - SJS
Carondelet, Salesian & BOD - NCS
Mitty, Pinewood & SI - CCS

Antelope in SJS just beat SI & Salesian. They probably won’t lose another game before playoffs. I’d think they deserve consideration for the Open.

Also depends on what they do with Clovis West. My guess is 6 teams in open. Give the north a better chance at winning D1 considering how good the top teams are down south.

MaxPreps has them losing to Salesian 62-57, but SI losing bad to SMS 71-52. Still a lot of basketball to be played.

I think the top 3 are Carondelet, SMS, and Mitty. Mitty isn't as talented as in past years, but they run their system like a Swiss watch. They can beat anyone at any time. Carondelet and SMS were able to beat them because of their great guard play.

Only way to beat Mitty is to have strong guards that can dribble through the press if necessary (Carondelet, SMS, and Pinewood all have or had that, and beat them most recently).

Mitty's roster is high comedy....They have SEVEN girls listed as 6 feet tall or more, and one at 5'11"....There is a short clip on their Twitter feed that shows Mitty running an inbound play, and it looks like full grown adults playing against a middle school team. They did refrain from posting the score on their feed.
