So this is where I was yesterday, unable to post about it in my usual way while there... No internet, no cell service for almost everybody (including me) in that gym.
I did put a few comments in my phone's Notes app, tho...
Jersey retirement ceremony was really well done.
St. Francis-Moreau game was the most exciting one of the night. SF was up 33-15 at the half, but they made a furious run at it in the 4th quarter. Both teams excellent, athletic, bouncy bunches.
CIRCLE THIS DATE: Dec. 22... St. Francis travels to Campo to take on my Cougars, should be a killer-diller!
Earlier games: Miramonte looks really solid, and I understand they have a lights-out shooter transfer who should be eligible by January. There's another couple dates to circle, Jan 6 and 28 for the Cougars-Matadors rivalry games.
Oakland Tech looked like they were going to dominate short-handed Sacred Heart Cathedral (football), but had trouble shaking them off to win by 10.
Nic Rondinet's 23 wasn't quite enough to get past. Kid has plenty of skills, smart, great hands, plays under control.
Albany has a solid sophomore named Jonathan Chapple who shows a LOT of promise. Skyline's Deundre Perteete is also a soph with much game.
