In the final week of league play, the title picture is finally clear. Sequoia has secured no worse than a tie for the crown. The Cherokees (who led Mills, 47-11, at one point Wednesday) are 10-1 with a game vs. Carlmont on Friday left on the schedule. Carlmont, having lost to Aragon Wednesday by 12, is out of the championship chase with three losses, as are both Menlo-Atherton and Mills. Aragon is in second place with two losses and the Dons are heavy favorites to win their finale Friday. They should wind up 10-2. South San Francisco, unbeaten in league play, is running away with the PAL North title. The Warriors' competition has been minimal in league play. Terra Nova will finish as the North's No.2 team. The top two teams from the North and South face off in the annual PAL Tournament, beginning Monday at Sequoia in Redwood City. The finals are set for Tuesday. The tourney has no bearing on the two PAL regular season championships. The tentative matchups on Monday would be: Sequoia vs. Terra Nova and South SF vs. Aragon.
