Palo Alto rides big firt inning in win over Serra

From Monday, Palo Alto scored eight runs in the first inning en route to a 10-5 win over Serra, which came into the game 9-0. Xavier Esquer had two home runs in the first inning including an inside the park version.

Aidan Berger and Tommy Hall also had multiple hits for the Vikings. Hayden Jung-Goldberg had a home run. Ryan Harvey got the win for Palo Alto in going 5.1 innings. He gave up nine hits and four runs.

Serra, which outhit Palo Alto 11-10, got a home run from Joey Lee. Thomas Gould and Will Bowen each had three hits. Tyler Molyneux thew two shutout innings to end the game for the Padres.
