I thought it would be fun to most a weekly, or maybe b-weekly tiers thread. We can adjust as we go, and we can crowd source. Since not all of us are super familiar with other sections and the smaller schools, feedback is welcome.

Let's open it up for fun! For now, we the qualifier will be the top 100 in CA, per CalPreps. We can open it up to more if we want!

Tier 1- DLS, Folsom, St. Francis

Tier 2- Serra, Rocklin, Buchanan, Central, Pitt

Tier 3- Central Catholic, Bellarmine

Tier 4- Manteca, Los Gatos, Edison, St. Mary's, Oak Ride, Del Oro

Tier 5- Clovis, Windsor, McClymonds, Oakdale, Antelope

Looking forward to the feedback and suggestions!

The First thing you would do is Put Folsom on Tier 2 since they lost by 3 TD’s to DLS…. That is how it’s done on The National Board where you are copying this from @sammyswordsman….

Example: SJB and MD were Both Tier 1 But SJB lost by 3 TD’s to MD so SJB was dropped to Tier 2….

I would also Move Serra up to Tier 1….

Dear User,
This is a NorCal specific Tiers. Therefore, no mention of SoCal teams will be taken into account here.

Your suggestion is noted with Serra. I am waiting to see what happens with them before moving up.

Folsom will remain at Tier 1 until CalPreps moves them down as I believe they are still one of the best 3 teams in NorCal right now.

This is an original idea for NorCal. Not anyone else

Keep it coming guys!

@sammyswordsman has been doing this on the National Board for years…. You know this though because you tried to mock him by creating your own Tiers just so you can put Folsom in Tier 2 because you were mad that everyone on the National Board had Folsom as Tier 6 or out completely…. 🤣

Of course the Mods took your Nonsense down as usual…. And this looks like much of the same from you, just another way to prop up Folsom Because on the Field they are not competitive with DLS….

A Team who loses by 3 TD’s to another team is not on the same Tier no matter what the Rankings say, that is the point of The Tiers….

But Again, you know all this… All you are doing is just trying to prop up Folsom to be as good as DLS and SF which they are not…. And they are not as good as Serra either….

I like the idea for this thread but can this guy just stop. The poster is single handedly making me root against Folsom, which is a shame because it is great what that school, community, and kids have done on the field. Football is such a great team sport and life lesson teacher for HS kids and I should not be rooting against youth but I found myself rooting and happy for DLS kicking their A$$, and I have zero affiliation with DLS, other than the religion I grew up with I guess.

Dear User,
Sounds like you have a lot going on right now on the Internet, that I have no clue about. Try to stay on point.

Folsom will stay Tier 1 until calpreps moved down as I stated in my post.

I am always open to suggestions. Next week's Tiers should get even juicier!

Enjoy.

Glad you like the idea.

Any input on the Tiers? It's crowd sourced so hoping for any positive ideas!

As usual you are Disingenuous and a Liar….

Tier 1 DLS. You can add St Franics bc they beat DLS.

Tier 2 NOBODY.

Tier 3 add whomever you want.

All seriousness, have watched very little hs football this year. My projections would only be from years of breaking down games and programs we could potentially match up with in the past.

1.Folsom is top in SJS till somebody knocks them off in SJS or league play.

2.Rocklin, see above notes.

3.Central Catholic, the most consistent 209 program. That's saying alot but they are a powerhouse with a great coaching staff.

4-10 in alphabetic order.

Edison
Granite Bay
Jesuit
Manteca
Oakridge
St Mary's
Vacaville

These teams are probably even, matchups win out, coaching and health will be key at the end.

Have not seen Jesuit play but they blew out a very talented Indy roster, and beat GB by two scores.

I think Elk Grove finally getting healthy and getting their qb back after missing early is big. They are extremely talented but lost their 1st two games with a depleated roster.

Antelope, not sure. They lost a very good 3 yr starter at qb, big OL is now at GB. The RB is a stud though. Antelope was supposed to have a very down yr. They started almost 100% seniors last yr, I thought they had extremely low numbers coming back but are now 7-0. Can they beat Indy for the 1st time ever?

Capital??? Who knows what the heck is going on over there. From outside looking in, they look the part of a legit roster with everything you need to win. Will they be allowed to play in the playoffs?

Sac high, Reber is a heck of coach and probably has them 1 or 2 years ahead of schedule. Can the beat top d3 team in Capital, Manteca or Oakdale... probably not this year, but speed and coaching makes the game much easier.

Downey. Plaa runs a great scheme on offense. Think KC Chiefs style meets wing-t/Hawaii run n shoot. When they have a qb and weapons they can score on just about anyone in SJS. Early loss was without QB I believe? QB makes this offense go, huge difference if there is a drop-off in talent.

Great points. I didn't put much thought into Jesuit, but that makes sense after those solid wins. I didn't want to give TOO much love to the SJS teams for perceived bias in the tiers, but you make some great cases.

Serra belongs in Tier 1,

Without Mahasin for rest of year, Serra is now a question mark vs. Valley Christian and St. Francis. Better wait and see what happens in those tests. Padres no sure thing at this juncture. Mahasin was a key factor in how teams prepare and defend Serra. His presence opened a lot for everyone else on offense. Now, it's a different enchilada. Friday night's WCAL game at VC will give us some answers.

Serra belongs in Tier 1,
I was leaning the same way.

However, after a deep dive into their schedule, I just couldn't get there. I don't think we will know for sure until they place St. Francis. But I agree with you, and had them on the Tier 1 bubble.

I'm hearing that their appeal at the section level has been denied and they filed for a temporary injunction on Monday so they could be eligible for the playoffs this year while the court case plays out...

I agree Folsom now Tier 2 since CalPreps is irrelevant and Folsom was smashed by DLS.
