Pleasant Grove beats Davis in series opener

Pleasant Grove (13-2) got a walk-off win in the eighth inning over Davis (10-4) 3-2. Davis forced extra innigns with two runs in the top of the seventh. The Eagles are now 7-0 in the Delta League while Davis is 0-4.

It was a good pitching matchup with Pleasant Grove's Ben Pernetti pitching into the seventh and giving up two unearned runs. Davis' Luke Carrell pitched the full game (7.1 innings) and gave up eight hits and no walks with eight strikeouts.

Offensively, Pleasant Grove was led by Tyson Pereira (home run) and Brody Boyle (two doubles). Davis had a pair of sophomores stand out in Brian Chin (2-for-3) and Carter Stoltz (two RBIs).

They will finish out their series on Thursday and Saturday.
