Are most or all of the schools in the league Open Enrollment or Boundary Public Schools? How does the rest of the league feel about Folsom’s dominance of the league for quite a few years now?

DO, GB, RHS are boundary public schools, not sure about OR. Quietly the rest of the league does not approve of Folsoms tactics. Few years ago they closed open enrollment, transfers did not enter and competitive edge was visibly disappearing. It was then quickly reopened....I am sure they have another version. They have influence in many forms.

OR is harder to get into than MIT if you aren't in the area. Virtually impossible for an out of area kid which has been a huge disadvantage for them. I know of at least 3 kids who are dominant on Folsom football team who live in EDH. Ryder Lyons being one of them. The hoop team has 3 starters who live in EDH as well. But if I'm a good basketball player I'm not playing at OR. One of the worse programs around. So do I blame the kids? Heck no. Football is a little different. OR has a very good program and last year you take Lyons off of Folsom and OR goes to a SBG. He is the difference maker. But can I blame him?? Been a lot of success in that program. Its a lot like college now. Coaches have lost the upper hand and its become the wild west. Kids come and go like the wind. These are the times.

I have no idea how anyone feels about Folsom as of today, but back in 2018, several of the SFL schools wanted Folsom to go independent in football. The Sac Bee did a pretty big write-up and a version of the story made it into USA Today High School Sports.

I bumped that old thread from back then. Here's a link. Most of the article is available in the first post.
