Crush in the valley continues…. My keyboard is back in the car, so minimal updates.

Earlier, Bishop O’Dowd smacked Sacramento 73-50.

Also, Denver Prep beat Our Savior Lutheran and its roster full of FIVE guys over 6’ 9” by about 8-ish.

13-2 Durango, 1:40 left in the 1st.

I believe the Pride’s junior star Tyler Harris is on the bench in street gear. A bit too far away to get a 100% ID on him.

Just found out that Tyler Harris sprained an ankle in Salesian’s last game.

Salesian is fighting back…. It’s 38-19 now, 3:13leftin the 3rd. Now 38-22…

Biggest problem for the Pride: Their normally devastating pressure full court seems to beno factor at all.

Adamu Reed of Salesian just stole around halfcourt, zipped downcourt withit and. THREW DOWN in two guys’ faces!!

Crowd went wild….

That’s Ajamu above with the jam…. silly thing won’t let me edit that one post.

Prolific and AZ Compass are battling now…. After one half of truly incredible high-flying basketball, Compass leads 24-23. LOTS of “not normal” plays!

Prolific built a 63-57 lead in the last minute, bu AZ was NOT done… Scored a bucket, immediately stole the inbounds and scored again! And then stole it AGAIN!! They took it in, and Prolific’s Pope stole and was fouled…. Sank both FT’s. 4-point lead with seconds to go…. and they FOULED the 3-point shooter! He made2 of 3 FT’s…. 4 seconds left…. STEAL!!! Desperation 3 forthe win…. NO!

Prolific wins a truly crazy one, 65-63.

Salesian was missing 2 starters and leading scorers in Austin Johnson and Tyler Harris.
They were apparently healthy at Gridley, but lost to Riordan & Dublin by double figures, and only came away with a win against the host team in the 7th place game. Maybe they’ll gel in the playoffs and have a deep run since they won’t be in the Open, but it’s been a tough year for them thus far. Winning doesn’t seem to be a priority.

Interesting comment on your perception of the team's priorities. My perception is the team doesn't make excuses, plays as tough a schedule (no cupcakes) as any team in NorCal, and never quits. If they don't play in the open, they will give 100% in whichever division they play. Salesian will do just fine wherever they play and in whatever division.

Let’s hope that is the case. They’ve got a wonderfully talented squad.
