Serra jumped on the crusaders and led by 17 or 18 in the first quarter and held on for a 8 point win. Second time in two years the Serra assistant coach has out dueled Curtin.

Riordan was without Wilhite and Vaihola again.

Without those 2 guys they don’t have any serious scoring threats...counting on a freshman carry the offensive load in the WCAL is a tough thing to ask

Why are they out? Did they decide against HS season and opt for AAU/EYBL? I see Wilhite was playing with the Soldiers recently. With California pushing off BB so late into the year, this really messed with a lot of kids ability to play in competitive AAU tourneys where other states have already completed their 2021 BBall seasons. That said the NCAA dead period is still in effect until June 1 if I am not mistaken.

This season is a joke. You can’t take many of these games serious. Who knows which kids are available to play night in and out. Baseball seems to be the only sport that is close to back pre pandemic which makes sense because it’s outdoors, kids are generally apart, and they got to practice.

Yes Sek Played. Was guarded by a 6'1 serra post player and never touched the ball on offense, except for offensive rebounds

Riordan can travel to Arizona last month with a full squad but can't get them to show up for local games. Something sounds off

Serra’s 6-8 xfer was matched up against Mor as well. Not much success whenever down low. Serra’s shooters were hot in the first half. Riordan’s perimeter game not so. Both teams see each other again at Riordan Fri. Half Moon Bay on Saturday.

I did not say D1 coaches.
If Wilhite & Big Rob went to AZ to play in front of Arizona Christian and New Mexico Tech. They need new advisors.
Wear a Cal polo to any aau tournament & see how popular you become. Still waiting to hear the reason for missing Campo game.

Normal absences are magnified too bc of short season. Saint Francis starting PG (Isaiah Kerr) is out for several weeks so has not played, and their other starting guard (Harlan Banks) is also out this week. Both due to injury. In a normal season this would be a blip, but with so few games it’s a lot more of the action to miss. It is what it is.

Well, Vaihola just committed to Fresno State, and Wilhite already has an offer from Washington State, so there's that...

One player was sick. The other was sat down by the coach...

the college coaches were in arizona. not so much at the local games.
What college coaches....D3 maybe. But D1 can't be actively recruiting until June 1. So all these tournaments saying they gave big scho coaching staffs showing up is smoke.

that has been addressed. but lets be honest... a coach can show up wherever he wants if he is wearing a mask and is a fan. if you think the assistants and the assistants to the assistants are not there then it is actually working. they do not want to be seen!

Great point. Scouts will find a way to check out talent in person. It's what they do. They prefer anonymity.

Colleges farm out scouting services to expand their coverage-been a practice for decades.
