41-0 at the half is more than "struggling". Put out the call to General Lee you need help. He can ride in on his green horse wearing a Notre Dame jersey and recite a Knute Rockne pre game speech. "we're gonna go inside of em, outside of em, inside, outside, inside, outside". That should work.
Maybe you saw "Rudy" as well 2 nites ago. Sean Astin does a good impression reciting the speech. the video is 2:29, but you can go to 1:55 if you just want to be motivated, LOL!
All kidding aside, 2015 looks like it may become a nadir for SHC in WCALvarsity football. However, both the 2014 and 2015 frosh classes appear to be very promising. There may be some realistic hope next year and beyond.
This years junior class was supposed to be THE class. Year three with the Big Kahuna and even with him the program has went downhill every year. No field and getting bused to practice every day takes away time from homework or time from practice. Attracting high level skill players with that offense is an impossible task unless they get the occasional son of alumni like Sheppard or just start making it rain with unlimited full tuition assistance "awards".
The City's WCAL football teams' successes do have a cyclical nature. However, league hasn't even started yet, and as SHC has shown, key injuries can take down a team quickly. Let's hope Riordan can weather the storm of their latest injuries and be ready for WCAL play. From all indications, SHC is rebuilding and should be fine in coming seasons, so we shouldn't kick a team when they're down. Great to see Riordan having early success so far, but there's still a long way to go.
Maybe Monte Vista just has a real good team this year. They beat a real good Pitt team last week. Did anyone really think that SHC had a chance last night?
Were injuries the reasons for the winless seasons the past two years also? The program has been in steady decline three years in a row with an alumni coach who has free reign and a prior WCAL championship albeit 15 years ago. What indications make you believe next year and the year after will be different?
He was hired over a month before the admittance decisions were made and there were people talking about this years Jr class their frosh year. Wishful thinking Irish fans.

Application deadline for all Catholic schools - end of November.
John Lee fired first week of January
Ken Peralta - hiring announced February 22.
Admission decisions mailed out second week of March.
Peralta had 0 chance of influencing kids to apply to school in junior class. Juniors applied with Lee as coach.
As to the juniors as freshman they went 0 and 7 in WCAL losing by a combined scores of 269 -30. No one ever touted any of the kids off that team. Give me even one name that someone has touted? Stop making things up to fit your agenda. (Riordan current Sophomores took over being the bottom dwellers last year going 0 and 7 and losing by a combined scores of 299-20)
Contrast that to current SHC sophomores who as went 4 and 3, beat league champion Valley Christian, with all 3 losses by 7 points and less and their combined scores at 175-108. This is the first class anyone has touted.
As to the last two seasons, these were John Lee players. And they did have some key injuries early in WCAL both years. Brett Rasso first year and two key lineman last year in first game against Mitty.
Enjoy your one year of success. It will be fleeting.

You enjoy a future of a football program joining the PAL, recruiting players from the Interpretive, Tango and Charleston dance classes, and the inevitable honor of being the only SF Catholic school with gender neutral bathrooms. Peralta can't even make this program WCAL competitive. Three years and it has gotten worse every year. Worse than even the General himself.
