SJS has five teams in Norcals CCS 0....Wow! CCS where are you? How the mighty have fallen.

I suggest you stop playing amongst yourselves and schedule some teams outside the area. Bellermine V Franklin blah, blah, blah.. How about SHP vs Grant or Bellermine vs Folsom... I've been saying it for years the CCS/WCAL was overrated . The S. Bay privates finally got a taste of the SJS the last two years SI v GB & Serra v Del Oro....You sent your best against the SJS second best and got beat....Now you want SHP vs Folsom????What's the point? I really don't think the CCS/WCAL private school fan base can handle public schools handing them their lunch....Not one of you will give me credit for the end of season shutout, but most of you following my posts know I predicted the CCS getting left out in the cold....CAPPY OUT!

Vacaville beat Valley Christian 3 years in a row (won 3 out of 4 total). Of course, they're no longer on Valley Christian's schedule

Valley Christian has had trouble against SJS teams in the recent past. Grant beat them two years in a row a few years back. Bellarmine on the other hand has done fairly well against SJS opponents. Blowing St. Mary's (Stockton) out in 2008 and beating Franklin this year. From what I've notice over the years it seems as if the two best teams in the CCS are Serra and Bellarmine. Both of those schools usually puts a good product on the field every year.

Also have to look at it like this. Sacred Heart Prep playing in their enrollment division, they would been a Division III pick.

I think it is well established that the SJS is the top section in NorCal.

By any chance are you a huge Texas High School Football fan? And maybe at some point had frog in your nickname? Amazing when you really think about it your just making fun of kids. Carry on.

I have not posted in a while, and haven't a dog in this fight, so I will post my take. Right or wrong, it is merely an opinion.

Grant has a REALLY difficult time finding games in Northern California. Two of their three games in preseason were against Fresno schools. If CCS schools want to make a name for themselves, schedule Grant or some of the other top end schools from the SJS. I know for a fact that there are schools looking for games in our Section. This past offseason Napa attempted to set up a game with Aptos and Aptos chose to play Granite Bay instead. My hats off to Aptos for making the decision to test themselves.

Perhaps this year Grant has gone undefeated, but in the five years prior they lost to Elk Grove three times, Oak Ridge twice, Burbank twice, Del Oro, Yuba City, Nevada Union, Franklin, Lincoln, Bethel, Folsom, and Rocklin. That is a total of 15 games to teams from the SJS.

The other notable item for discussion is the CCS's Open Division. I think the SJS has it right where they create playoff brackets based upon a schools enrollment. Take the biggest 12-16 schools and place them in D1, second largest 12-16 schools and make them D2, etc. I think SHP would make an excellent rep for Nor Cal in D3. If the CCS expanded their playoffs just a bit to 12 team brackets and give the top four seeds first round byes, it would open up the playoff experience for a few more teams and allow the top four teams a week to get healthy after the grind of the season.

I think the Northern Section has to travel a bit more to take on some of the better teams if they want to be considered for the NorCal games as well. Enterprise took their shot at Vacaville, and it didn't work out. I applaud them for taking the shot. However, winning a mere two playoff games against two average teams you have already beaten doesn't help your argument that you belong in the NorCal games.

Oakland and San Francisco section? I don't know what to say....

These are just ramblings....

Yes, but let's not forget St. Mary's (Stockton) returned the favor in 2009.

The 1st time Grant invited Valley Christian to Sac in 05-06 VC were the 2x defending CCS Champs and ended that season 12-1 with another title (3x Champ) it's only loss to Grant which only lost (twice) to Nevada Union (SJS DI champ).
Grant repeated in 06-07 with a 40-7 blowout of VC in San Jose. Grant eventually winning SJS DII undefeated watched as DLS (Concord) lost to Canyon (Canyon Country) in first SBG.
So its been a long time coming and yeah teams do get left but you got to play the games year in year out.
