It looks like Clet will be playing Folsom and not Etiwanda. I am guessing that will be a good game but not as tough as the Etiwanda match up would have been. But Clet can't take any good team ( which Folsom is) lightly. Still that is probably better because two days later Clet will have their hands full battling Mitty. Perhaps the best team in the nation Centennial of Las Vegas Nevada would be a good team to see up close and personal. They battle Etiwanda in Clet's place. That should be a good game. They also play Bishop Montgomery which could also be good. I have to put Centennial down as the early favorites in both games. Bishop Gorman ( perhaps not their best year but always a good team) has a very good basketball program. So the game with B.G. and MM should be tough. And keeping an eye out for SMS ( I think Oliver is back healthy) as they have two tough games that could be thrillers too. Good lineups overall.

#3 in the country Centennial vs a very good Etiwanda team , then Centennial plays Bishop Montgomery team on Monday, two must see games. SMS might struggle in both of there games. Ljcd almost pulled the upset on Redondo , they lost by 3 , a team SMS lost to by 36 in Arizona. Carondelet and Folsom will be interesting as well. McClathcy vs catholic Cathedral is another game that should be pretty exciting matchup

MLK Girls BBall
Final - Miramonte 62-59 over Bishop Gorman
Final - Cathedral Catholic 68-54 over West Campus

Bishop Gorman finished with a 15-4 run in the last 2:30, keyed by terrific defensive pressure.

Folsom girls come back in second half to upset state No 7 Carondelet 59-47 at St Mary’s MLK event. Cougars maybe looking ahead to playing Mitty on Monday. Great game for Charity Gallegos 23 pts.

Te-Hina PaoPao scores 32 pts as La Jolla Country Day girls get statement win over St Mary’s of Stockton. Final score 84-64.

Got to give Folsom props. I didn't see the game. But as several people posted Folsom is not the same team when Charity is out. It sounds like she (Charity Gallegos) had a high impact game. And I've been told Folsom has the size to matchup with Clet. It sounds like that was the case. Congratulations to Folsom !

cptmycpa,

I'm sure the Mitty game was looming large and may have had a bit of an impact. Factor that in with the challenging schedule and challenging games Clet has played lately and how closely together they are, and then sprinkle in the fact it sounds like Folsom matched up with Clets size and there you have it. Any good and well coached team is capable of pulling the victory or upset out.

Question: Does anyone in attendance have a game summary?

Question: Did Folsom punch themselves a ticket into the Open with the victory?

seem to remember Gallegos missed MM game for a wedding. MM should take up a collection for a belated wedding present to the bride.

Paytc--you can watch the Clet/Folsom game on passthaball for $10.

How did SJND do? Wow what a huge win for Folsom, didn’t expect that one. This definitely shows the parity this year. Looks like we can expect very fun playoff this season. Could be lots of upsets and close games this year as opposed to the last few.

basketba11,

That actually bodes well for Clet and many other under dogs who have made the Open almost every season yet loss 90% of their first round games. CLet has loss in the first round every season since Margaret was successful at getting the team into the second round the 1 or 5 years (I'm not sure about Margaret's Open tournament record) she was able to help the team advance. I do know 3 of the last four years Clet was in the Open tournament. And they loss the first game all three seasons. And they loss the first game of the Division 1 playoff the year they didn't make the Open. Perhaps this season the team will advance to the second or higher rounds? I think the key this season is they are not quite as predictable. And they appear to be working toward getting areas of weaknesses strengthen. Also the bar seems to be raised. I Think both the players and coaching staff want to take the success as far as possible. Games like Folsom, MM, Bear Creek,Sacramento, SJND, Salesian twice, Clovis North, Mater Dei, and the other 3 TOC games, Pinewood, Mitty, etc.... will give the team a lot to take the good and bad from to be challenged, confident, and hungry enough to be better prepared. Obviously there still are no guaranteed Open Division victories for Carondelet or anyone else. But odds are the more cracks you get at breaking open an eggshell the better the odds of a break-through. Much success to them in the big upcoming game vs Mitty. And more importantly in finding a way to advance in the Open and/ or win there last game of the season without it being the way they did it last season.

Last game started at 840 . Smooth and really good games . A lot of college coaches in attendance. Really good hospitality room and fun environment. Music was excellent, with teams dancing in the stands.
Can someone post the results of all the games?

Why is the "Snack Bar" so close to the court?
Somebody is going to get hurt on that mess...
