Okay, now I settle down to the “occasional update” mode…

Next up, Heritage of Brentwood, a few blocks away…. They are 0-2 but played undefeated Northgate pretty close, losing by 7.

Lincoln of SF is 2-2, losing both game they play against solid competition…. Heritage should get this one.

Anyway, right now it’s 29-25 here in the Varsity tourney, Heritage leading a scrappy Lincoln-SF. Now 29-27, 2:31 left 3rd.

21 seconds now, Heritage calls time out, the possession was going badly. They’ll get it, 19 on the shot clock…. 2 seconds between clocks.

Lincoln foul, not in bonus…. but new shot clock. Nice pass for a layup.. Heritage takes the lead but Lincoln scores right back! Annddd…. that’s the final score, after a Heritage desperation heave doesn’t get off in time.

Lincoln will face Campo tomorrow, Heritage gets Cornerstone Christian in a consolation game.

4-0 College Park.

Enochs is a bit of a surprise considering their early-season performance last year…. But they did do ONE thing right.. They were 100% every second they were on the floor. This year, they’re getting results.

College Park is led by super frosh Miles Cooper, one of two frosh I spot in their roster.

Cooper is scoring 20 points per game and has almost 5 rebounds per game despite being 5’ 10”.

College Park, down 14-10, goes to a 1-2-2 press…. Cooper springs out of the back line, steals, goes all the way…. 14-12 to end the 1st q.

Cooper nails a side-step 3 with 2 guys on him at the buzzer to get CP a 34-25 lead at the half.

Kid is the REAL DEAL. Only drawback I see is size…. I think the 5’10” listing is a bit generous…

But if he grows to, say, 6’2” by the time he’s a senior, he’ll have a bag coming….

And he’s tough on defense and has a nose for sneaking in to get surprise rebounds. Otherwise, he sucks.

Enochs burns clock, can’t get a shot off…. Cooper with a contested stepback 3, airball…

Enochs burns the whole clock again, can’t score…. but CP turns it over! Nice pass inside, Enochs scores again…. 60-48. Another stop, the Enochs fan can taste this one…. They run out the clock, 11 seconds left. CP dribbles it out, Enochs wins!! 60-48.
