Today finds me at Salesian v. Logan…

Halftime of the frosh/soph game.

Decent but not fabulous action for the level…. Until 35 seconds left in the half.

Um…. When’s the last time y’all saw a chasedown off-the-backbourd SWAT in a frosh/soph game???

A Salesian guy committed the act, don’t have his name or number. In any case, Logan leads at the half, 26-24.

50-47 final, Logan prevails.

Exciting finsh! Logan came from 5 points down in the last two minutes.

JV time…

Salesian JV’s fell behind by about 8 early, dominated the rest of the first half and the first few minutes of the 3rd Q to get a 21-point lead, then had to hold off a furious Logan comeback that got ‘em within 5 before the ending score of 77-69.

Logan is 2-0, but hasn’t faced competition the likes of the Pride as yet.

I believe this is Salesian’s first contest. Yes, it is.

Salesian’s pregame drill is one of the most fun to watch…. And they look like they always seem to, full of long, agile, rangy athletes. I’d say Logan has its hands full, but they always play tough and scrappy….

13-1 Salesian after 3 and a half minutes…. Logan calls time out to try and stop a “first-round TKO”

Salesian starts a freshman…. Haven’t been able to get his name yet.

21-6 to end the quarter on a 3-ball buzzer-beater by Logan.

#5 Tyler Harris is a freakazoid…. 6’7 or so, springs in his legs, quick and shifty… and FAST off the floor. I count 3 blocked shots already.

The Salesian freshman starter is Alvin Loving. 6’ 3” and NOT built like a freshman!
