I was very sad to read this in the morning. Tony Gwynn was one of the greatest players of our era.

My prayers go out to his family.

Yeah, he was a GREAT player. I heard a good interview with John Kruk (I guess they were drafted together by Padres) where he could hardly keep from breaking down. Besides being a great baseball player, Kruk conveyed a portrait of a great family man.
