So are we not going to talk about this score from yesterday? Much respect to DeSoto for coming out here but according to @becoolpt55 DeSoto should beat every NorCal team by 40 pts. Looks like San Joaquin Memorial didn't get the message.

Sidwell is clearly the Best in the nation…after they took Desoto to the woodshed that was obvious… how Clay still has them at 2 is messed up

DeSoto beat Montverde, BMHS and Duncanville. All Top 25 ranked teams. Not to mention some of the tough teams they play in Texas. I think they are still #2 in the nation so ESPN and MaxPreps got it right. Sidwell beat them by 18 but it was a dominant performance by Sidwell. I saw that on ballerTV and Sidwell is just different.

DeSoto beat Salesian 61-44. Will be in the finals vs Carondelet-Mitty winner. C-Let up 29-23 at halftime.
It's amazing that the general public had more belief in CLET"s talent than their own coaching staff.
The fact the the tourney committee had to be practically shamed into moving Clet up to the Platinum is crazy. And the fact that it was only actually done because of the covid dropouts is ridiculous.

Exactly… why KS went to the Nike and played in a junk division was a waste of time… and why he as you say he was shamed into joining the Platinum division… why do the parents put up with it…. Anyway the real poser is Sue now…as it has always been… an average coach with above average

The girl’s basketball scene seems to cause you so much pain and anger. Every year it’s the same from you. Maybe you should switch to the boys side!
Why is Sue the poser and how is she covering up her miscalculations? They lost a tough game. Mitty wasn't in a lower bracket they were platinum the whole time. Mitty couldn't hit shots down the stretch this game but believe you me they will be back in the mix come playoff time. I think Carondelet is on Mitty's schedule in January so they will run it back.
Average coach? How do you come up with average? Was she average when they won Iolani? It is a real shame you come on here and bash away at the same people year in and year out. Mitty lost a tough game against a very good team.

whatever the case. the number 2 team in the nation played the number 1 team in california probably one of the biggest games around here in years. and nobody has a write up??!!
They belong in the convo for one of the top teams in NorCal, but have a ways to go before anyone considers them the #1 team in CA.
C-let took an early 4-2 lead before DeSoto overtook them. It was tied a few times early, but DeSoto settled into a comfortable 5-10 point lead for most of the game. All 5 of the DeSoto starters (and maybe more?) we’re announced to be committed to major D1 programs like Kentucky, Texas & Mississippi State in the intros. It made C-Let’s 2 celebrated D1 guards seem outmanned.
The Cougars hung tough and always stayed within striking distance, but never really challenged them or took the lead late. DeSoto’s length allowed them to score at will with players flashing to the high post and hitting 6’3” posts down low. Here’s some video:

Herron 6'5 and Smith and Muhammad are 6'4. As well as some other 5'11' 6'0 and 6'1 girls DeSoto has athletic height and solid guards. I was impressed with how Carondelet adjusted and fought. They got within 1-5 a few times in the first half. Second half DeSoto extended and looked like it would get out of hand but then Carondelet would fight back. It was a fun game to watch. NorCal hoops is getting better.

Yes, I do watch girls’ ball, when I have time. That’s the problem in a nutshell. Would be nice if the girls season started in late March. 🙂
