MV has a new coach this year, and that was his first game. But still maybe Antioch has something special his year? That was a can of whoopass!

Cal High beat James Logan 41-7.

Cronin is OC at Cloverdale NCL 1. As least according to my first hand sources as of last week.

I see Oakdale got smacked by Aptos (who could be good) and barely beat Sonora. They scheduled a poor preseason by their standard (Balboa!) Is oakdale slightly down?

Dougherty Valley 22 - Milpitas 10
SRV 41 - Vintage 7
Foothill 49 - Castro Valley 6
El Cerrito 7 - Amador Valley 3
Heritage 42 - Dublin 7
Livermore 35 - Livingston 27

What if anything does that score say about Rocklin? They lost to Turlock last week
I think the short answer is Rocklin is down this year. They will need weekly improvement to be competitive in league this year. Last night was a good start. In contrast to last season they are a low scoring team that needs to rely on 4 quarters of mistake free football.

Friday result;
Rocklin 27 McQueen 7

Rocklin will be in the basement of the SFL. They were stacked last year and lost tons. That is what it tells me.
And how in the world is Oak Ridge not ranked. Another major blunder so far.

Oak Ridge seems to be very very good. But didn't expect 62-0 over Vaca. Are the Bulldogs that bad, or Trojans that good?

OR is pretty damn good. They smacked a good Sheldon team in they scrimmage by at least 4-5 tds and it was played like a true game and not a scrimmage. They beat CO 56-0 and now Vacavillle 62-0. They have elite size on the line. 6”3-6”5 250-300. Return a very good Hs QB who can run and throw. They don’t have great speed on the outside but I wouldn’t want to get into a physical matchup with them. They are going to win a lot of games in the trenches. I sound like a broken record but the Folsom and OR/GB gap isn’t that big this year. OR and GB will be able to move the ball no problem on the ground against Folsom. Can they keep their offense off the field? That is the ?.
Vacaville lost a really good RB to UCD and an lineman to Utah. They are down.

Is Cronin the OC for Galloway or is he just consulting and helping with the QB’s? I’ve heard both versions, not sure which is fully accurate.

Have heard more than once he will be at TL school next year?

Casey Taylor! In my opinion one of the top coaches in SJS.
I don’t think you will have any argument on here. He’s incredible on the sidelines. Keep in mind last year he inherited a staff and only had a couple months to prepare. This is his staff now and kids have bought in. Participation is up across all grades and football fever is high around OR. Things are looking up.

Bellarmine - Melo-Atherton - Jurrion Dickey is suited up and playing.
BCP 6-0 1Q

I know Clovis West is good but surprised by that score
I did not see the game but read a recap. Clovis West could be pretty good, and they will play the top teams in the area to prove it. Turlock had four turnovers in the first quarter including a pick six and were down 28-0 immediately. They moved the ball but couldn't complete anything as they were 0 - 9 on third down conversions. Plus they could have been a bit full of themselves after beating Rocklin. All of which is to say they probably would not have beaten Clovis West without these things but it could have been closer. And this doesn't bode well for the future as they have Central this week followed by Manteca and Clayton Valley, all ranked higher than Clovis West. And yes, Rocklin is undoubtedly down from last year and the loss to Turlock was not a fluke.
