WEEK SEVEN PREDICTIONS FOR DVAL,DFAL, BVAL,EBAL AND FREELANCE

This is several days early, but I have to go out of state on business and I'll be gone for a week or so....But we have a host of interesting games for this week.
The game of the week is between Monte Vista and Foothill...again, we have two of the area's best QB's facing each other...Foothill is 7-0 while Monte Vista is 5-1, but the loss to CVC gave Monte Vista a good battle test, both QB's have good arms's and good protection, so the team with the least mistakes could be the winner...

FREELANCE
Poly of Long Beach 5-1 at DLS 5-1.......DLS 39 Poly 7...Again, it will be the Spartan defense that will contain the JackRabbits..
Kennedy 1-5 at Logan 5-2.....Logan 44 Kennedy 13...Logan missed a PAT last week that could have put the game into overtime with maybe a different result, so the Colts should come out shooting....

GAMES OF INTEREST
St. Mary's of Albany 3-3 at Hercules 5-1.....Hercules 28 St. Mary's 20......the titan's have a big line and a very fast back field with a QB that can throw a pass in the air for 40 plus yards...although Hercules gave up 300 plus yard rushing to Pinole Valley, this is a lot tougher team then the score and the defense showed....St. Mary's will be busy...
Valley Christian of Dublin 6-0 vs. John Swett 5-1 at Dougherty Valley Hi.....Valley Christian 33 John Swett 26
Both teams have been lighting up the score board, so the team with the best defense wins...

Pinole Valley 4-2 at Salesian 3-3......Pinole Valley 49 Salesian 20.....The Spartan's have a red hot offense led by running back Michael Powell and a strong defense..

EBAL
California 5-1 at Amador Valley 4-2.....California 31 Amador Valley 14......The Grizzlie defense may be the best defense in the EBAL..
Foothill 7-0 at Monte Vista 5-1.....Monte vista 35 foothill 30.....Again, two of the area's best QB's face each other, but it will be the defense that makes the difference and this is the game of the week...
Livermore 3-4 at San Ramon Valley 1-5.....San Ramon Valley 40 Livermore 20..the wolves end the drought, but its not going to be easy as the cowboys can be dangerous....

DVAL
Ygnacio Valley 2-4 at College Park 0-6......College Park 33 Ygnacio Valley 26.....The Falcons struggle but come up with their first win and it won't be easy...
Mt. Diablo 1-5 at Concord 4-2...concord 44 Mt. Diablo 12....the Minutemen ripped College Park apart last week and will probably do the same to the Red Devils
CVC 5-1 at NorthGate 4-2.....CVC 48 NG 12......This will be the toughest defense the Bronco's will face, plus a offense that will show no mercy....

DFAL
Dougherty Valley 5-2 at Acalanes 2-4.....Acalanes 31 Dougherty Valley 13....The Don's mauled Alhambra two weeks ago but got shut out by Dublin 17-0 last week.. a shut out of Acalanes was not expected, so Acalanes will not lay down for the Wildcats..
Dublin 5-1 at Alhambra 3-4.....Dublin 35 Alhambra 13.....Dublin shows just how good the Gael defense can be against the Bulldogs....
Campolindo 6-1 at Las Lomas 1-5.....Campolindo 49 Las Lomas 7....as time goes on, the Cougars will get better and better...

BVAL
Freedom 3-3 at Antioch 6-0.....Antioch 44 Freedom 27......As many weapons that Freedom has it may not make much difference....The Panther defense has become a unit that is relentless while the offense runs wild....
Liberty 3-3 at Heritage 3-3.....Liberty 41 Heritage 30....The Lion defense gave up 37 points last week against Deer Valley but the Lions also had a commanding lead with the addition of the Pittsburg transfer on the offense...
Deer Valley 3-3 at Pittsburg 5-1.....Pittsburg 39 Deer Valley 26.....DV has a bad habit of scoring a lot of points so the Pirate defense will have to be on their toes.... .

Bluedog, I like all of your picks again this week, with the exception of Hercules beating St. Mary's. Hercules may be 5-1, but they have had some creampuffs on that schedule and have not faced a team as tough as St. Mary's. St. Mary's 3 losses were to teams with a combined record of 18-1, while Hercules just lost to PV last week.
I see the Foothill @ Monte Vista game as a toss up, and MV playing at home could make the difference, but would not be surprised if the Falcons pull it out. This one is the game of the week IMHO.

Freedom vs. Antioch and Monte Vista vs. Foothill are great matchups! I plan going to Antioch for that game. I think it will be in the 20's both ways. I'll say Freedom 28-27. I have Monte Vista winning 38-28

Monte Vista is good! It may be close at the end with Foothill edge still goes to MV. Their place kicker hit a 52 yard field goal last week with room to spare. Kid is LEGIT!

I haven't seen either team play this year but to me it may boil down to QB's and running backs. I would give QB edge to Monte Vista and running back edge to Foothill.

A good QB that makes good decisions is dangerous. I haven't see MV play but taking CV to the edge and coming back on Pitt is impressive. But being he's just a kid, blitzing him up the center and dropping the DE's into coverage could confuse the young guy. I'm gonna take Foothill in that game.

Last year Alhambra edged Dublin in a shoot out. The difference this year is Dublin has committed to the run and their defense is much better. After the Acalanes game I don't see Alhambra scoring much in the first half. 35-7 final.

 

[EBALISBEAST]

MV did well against the run versus AV. Bottled up their track star and their power back. Foothill's RB is good. I am sure he is hungry as well, trying to get noticed. If he has a special night to help Foothill overcome MV's scoring prowess it should help the young man get to the next level. MV is playing outstanding as a team! I have seen them play for the last four years and this is by far a more cohesive unit on both sides of the ball.

Some crazy DFAL scores. Dublin loses to Alhambra and Acalanes losing to DV is a bit shocking.
