Starting the conversation on teams to watch for this season.

De La Salle (27-5): The two time NorCal Divison I champions will remain one of the top teams in NorCal. Hitters to watch include Hank Tripaldi (San Diego State) and high level junior Alec Blair. Also sophomore Tyler Spangler is a Stanford commit. On the mound, they will bring back their top two pitchers in innings in RJ Meyn (Santa Clara) and Jack Hershey.

Valley Christian-San Jose (31-4): Valley Christian is another team that reloads more than rebuilds and it starts in the lineup with Tatum Marsh (Stanford), junior Jordan Ortiz (LMU) and junior Quinten Marsh (Stanford). The Warriors lose their two top pitchers, but Quinten is coming off a 6-2 seaon and junior Kole Laubach, who went 4-0 as a sophomore.

In addition to the Above, Sophomore Stanford Commit Pitcher Graham Schildt From Campo has Transferred to DLS…..

Cardinal Newman (28-2): The Cardinals have won 52 combined games the past two seasons, but are tasked with replacing a big and talented senior class. Hitters to note are Diego Boardman and Samuel Valenti. Boardman threw six innings last spring but Tanner Bradley (Oregon) is the top returner at 11 innings.

Franklin-Elk Grove (30-5): The Wildcats need to replace do everything Nolan Stevens, but they have some players to lean on including Jordan Lopez (Cal) and Noah Meaux. They also have a pair of underclassmen hitters to watch in Jason Harris and Dylan Minnatee. On the mound, they return two of their top three pitchers in Lopez and Nic Abraham (Tennessee)

Whitney (26-9): Whitney should remain among the top teams in NorCal with three of their top four hitters returning in Jax Gimenez (Oregon), Nathan Erickson and Luke Oyler (Sacramento State). Oyler will also be counted on as a pitcher and will be joined by junior Corden Pettey (Texas).

Clayton Valley Charter (22-7): The Eagles were stocked with seniors last year and will need to retool in 2024. Two players to watch as returners from last year's squad are Hank Phifer (Long Beach State) and Jerry Coakley. They have won at least 21 games in each of the past two seasons.

For CVC they also Have Brandon Klyman who is a Sophomore Committed to USC throws low 90’s…. Played Both Varsity and JV last year….. They also have Soph Jamarion Bella so they will be loaded with pitching…..

I have heard rumblings though of unhappiness and players leaving the program but don’t have any confirmed names so just rumors at this point…..

Thanks for the info, @THEOC89. Definitely will be something to track heading into the season

DFAL will be fun to watch this year…. CVC, College Park and Benicia all have very good teams and Had Campo not been hit with transfers this could have been one of the top leagues in Nor Cal…..

Campo is very well coached though and Acalanes is a sleeper team, will be a very tough league to win, but I would say that CVC is Definitely the favorite all things considered…..

And in the “Lower” DFAL watch for Alhambra…. They have a good coach and 2 D1 level pitchers, they probably should have been moved up this year, they will be very good!…..

J’amarion Bella is now at PITT, saw him playing for them 2 weeks ago…. I heard CVC only has 15 players on Varsity and 13 on JV with 5 or so Juniors….. They had almost that many players on Varsity alone last year and their JV team was really good!….

Still they have a very talented Varsity team but not a lot of depth like last year….
