The Thunder passed their first real test the other night when they squeaked past an excellent Del Oro squad the other night…

But just about every SFL game will be a battle the rest of the way.

Can the Thunder keep on winning?

Or will the Oak Ridge Trojans come out from the bedstand drawer and put an end to the undefeated dream?


Geez, I’ve been listening to Knute Rockne recordings again…. Spiced with a little old-school Jim Rome…

Anyway…. Rocklin leads early in the freshman game at the moment. 6-4.

These two teams faced off in a holiday tournament a couple weeks ago, Oak Ridge winning that one by 20.

So far, this one’s different from that one…. Rocklin leads 12-11 after 1 quarter.

All of a sudden, the shooters heat UP!

Rocklin makes a 3, Oak Ridge answers, then Rocklin makes two trey on consecutive possessions…. Rocklin has the lead for the first time in a while…. 2:23 left, 54-53.

#22 of Rocklin is EN FUEGO! 57-53 Rocklin, 1:33 left…. Rocklin #12 fouled, bonus…. Makes the first, misses the 2nd, but Rocklin grabs the rebound…. 1:24 left, time out. I think Rocklin has FT’s coming…. 1:24 left.

Rocklin is now at 19-0 after their thrilling overtime win over Del Oro on Monday,

and Oak Ridge is 12-6, coming off a win over Whitney.

OR is ranked #150 on MaxPreps, Rocklin at #35.

Foul on Sayer, Connor Bow at the line for 3.. makes 2. 9-2. 5:34 left 1st.

Offensive foul, and Rice gets inside for 2. 9-8.

Enney fouled, 2 FT’s…. makes the 2nd one. 10-8…

but Rice pulls up and nails a 3!

Romo Finney (Great name!) hits an elbow J for DO..

Sayer fouled, 2 FT’s good. 14-13 DO. 2:48 left 1st,

Lavrenov gets his first chance inside, knows what to do…. 15-14 Rocklin.

Finney with a nifty crossover, gets to the hole for 2…. 16-15 DO.

Lavrenov fouled…. FT’s both good…. 17-16 Rocklin.

Preston McHenry knocks down a 3 for DO, Lavrenov scores inside…. 19-all.

Isaiah Elston fouled, has a pair for Rocklin…. Both good. 21-19 Rocklin.

Offensive foul…. Rocklin has it, 40 seconds left in the quarter…. Andrews hits a midrange, 23-19, still 15 seconds left, but OR can’t get anything done…. 23-19 Rocklin after 1 quarter.

Evan Fryer answers for OR. 25-21.

Rocklin bad pass…. but OR travels…

Kanyon Rice hits a 3, STEAL, pass gets to Lavrenov for a layup. 30-21, OR calls time out. 6:07 left.

They get it back, Sayer scores…. 30-23.

Charge on Lavrenov…. 4:45 left. But OR travels on the inbounds…

Laavrenov with a MAN’S rebound, he goes back up and scores…. FT is good. 33-23.

Lavrenov gets his 2nd foul.. Sayer at the line… btw, there are 2 Sayers, I just noticed…. This one, Dylan, misses both FT’s.

Isaiah Elston rebound and putback…. 35-23.

Enney fouled, scores.. FT missed, but Dylan Sayer puts it back in. 35-27.

Kaleb Edwards, OR’s big, gets his 3rd….

Connor Bow hits one of two.

Dylan Sayer scores inside…. 36-29…. but Dylan Sayer nails a 3! 36-32 Rocklin, time out with 3:01 left in the half.

Tanay Shah hits a wing 3…. 38-35, but Rocklin scores.. missed the guy. 40-35.

And the hero of Monday takes a charge on the other end…. He’s a soph-more…

And that’s the half…. 45-37 Rocklin.

Del Oro beat Folsom 59-52 and Whitney beat Granite Bay 67-44. That puts Rocklin & Whitney at 2-0, DO & Folsom at 1-1, & GB and OR are 0-2. Friday will be Rocklin at Folsom, DO at Whitney, and GB at OR.

They are a solid team. But just look on maxpreps and you can see their schedule has been a joke.
