Lincoln-Stockton starts fast in first win of the season

Lincoln-Stockton led 7-0 after two innings and despite a three run seventh inning from Sierra, the Trojans posted a 7-5 victory on Friday.

Lincoln junior Jake Fernandez had a triple, single, walk and hit by pitch. He drove in two runs and scored twice. Trojans' starter Louis Montes gave up a hit, three walks and two unearned runs in three innings while striking out five.

Sierra seniors Deshon Thomas and Jesse Ortiz-Martinez each had two RBI. Junior Zion Bell came on in relief and tossed four shutuout innings to end the game.

Lincoln is 1-1 with the loss coming against Rodriguez. It plays Kimball on March 9.

Sierra is 2-3 with losses against Buhach Colony, Atwater and Lincoln. Next up is Ripon on March 10.
