Also in D2, No. 12 Rio Americano beat No. 5 Rocklin 6-3

In Division I, No. 14 seed Central Valley beat No. 3 Elk Grove 3-2

Yup! This format favors all the underdogs so much.
Best 2 out of 3 almost always best team prevails.

I agree, but I think the best 2 out of 3 should only be for the Championship Series.

You start playing 2 out of 3 for all playoff games and wed be playing well into June.

McClatchy wins series 2 -0
Franklin scores two runs in the top of the 7th to take a 3-2 lead.
McClatchy scores two runs in the bottom of the 7th, to win 4-3.
4th seed McClatchy will face 2nd seed Whitney for the SJS D1.
