Division I North: Oak Ridge’s early win over Elk Grove was enough for the Trojans to garner the top seed...Davis has fallen to a No. 8 seed after being No. 1 overall in NorCal earlier this year. They will face Vacaville and likely see Portland bound RHP Joey Morris...Sacramento City College will be full of scouts and other professional baseball personnel as Vintage’s Jared Horn and Sheldon’s Matt Manning are expected to toe the rubber in a win or go home game on May 18 and 19 respectively...The depth of pitching for Jesuit could help them navigate two one and done situations before double elimination begins...Elk Grove boasts the best offense in the field led by Dylan Carlson and Ryan Robards.

Division I South: Early in the spring, it looked like St. Mary’s run of dominance in the South could end. However, the Rams have played good baseball down the stretch behind solid pitching and a trio of tough hitters at the top of the order...If you don’t know Beyer’s Jack Large yet, that should change after a long playoff run. The Stanislaus State bound hitter is hitting .462 with 22 RBI...After a 3-8 start, Turlock has won 14 of 16 games to garner a first round bye. Recent Utah commit Jonathan Temple is hitting nearly .400 with five home runs and 32 RBI...A potential second round game is Lincoln-Stockton and Bear Creek, which won its first league title in 15 years in the first year under head coach Pete Pijl

Division II: The Capital Valley Conference has the top two seeds with Bella Vista and Del Campo...The Broncos have three pitchers between 37 and 47 innings led by Aaron Lee, who also boasts an 8-0 record...Benicia made back-to-back Division II finals in 2013 and 2014 with a title two years ago. Cole Eigenhuis is 6-1 with a 1.52 ERA and more than one strikeout per inning...McClatchy can be dangerous as the No. 8 seed with an offense that has totaled 213 runs.

Division III: Will Vista del Lago capture its first section title this year? The Eagles have good pitching depth to navigate the bracket led by Patrick Gaffney, who is 8-1...Yuba City is the defending champion and was briefly ranked in the NCP Top 20 after a good showing at the Boras Classic. Cal bound Cameron Eden is hitting .427 with three home runs and 26 RBI...Manteca was the Valley Oak League champions behind a trio of senior pitchers, which accounted for 16 of its 19 wins...Will Oakdale throw USC bound Austin Manning throw in the opener against Pioneer-Woodland? He is 7-3 with a 1.33 ERA and 87 strikeouts.

Division IV: El Capitan, in its second year of varsity baseball, won its first league title (Western Athletic Conference). Junior Sal Davuluri leads the team in extra base hits, RBI, wins, ERA and strikeouts...Lincoln is the defending D4 champion and won the Pioneer Valley League with a 14-1 mark. The Fighting Zebras have three players with at least 22 RBI, led by junior Charles Middleton at 31...The top prospect is Placer right-handed pitcher Radd Thomas (UC Santa Barbara), who is 3-1 with a 1.38 ERA and 79 strikeouts. The Hillmen open play on Monday against El Dorado-Placerville.

Division V: Capital Christian is vying for its fourth straight section crown and boasts one of the top arms in the section in Tiegen Jones. The Fresno State signee has a sub two ERA and has 67 strikeouts in 40.1 innings...Ripon, the No. 2 seed, has won 10 in a row and was perfect in the Trans Valley League for its first league title in more than a decade. The Indians are averaging almost eight runs per game, led by 34 RBI from Nick Price...Dixon, last year’s runner-up, is giving up three runs per game and won seven of 10 to end the regular season.

Division VI: On the same championship path as Capital Christian, Bradshaw Christian is looking for its fourth straight title and its sixth consecutive championship game appearance. Spencer Swain has three home runs with 25 RBI while notching seven wins on the mound...Ripon Christian is the No. 2 seed and is giving up less than three runs per game. The Knights have won 11 in a row...Vacaville Christian opens up action against Woodland Christian on Monday at Stagg High School. The Falcons could be better next year with no seniors picking up wins thus far and the top five RBI producers are set to return.

Division VII: Valley Christian-Roseville routinely plays a difficult non-league in order to be equipped for the playoffs. The Lions have played in eight straight section finals and have gotten a team high 27 RBI from junior Corey Cater...Big Valley Christian has scored 211 runs in 20 games to win the Central California Athletic Alliance. Freshman Tyler Meyer with .427 with 35 RBI. He is also 4-1 with a 3.05 ERA.
