Sunday college football

For those with a yen for Bay Area college football history, it's good to recall those Sunday afternoons at old Kezar Stadium in San Francisco where St. Mary's, Santa Clara and USF played some of their biggest ballgames. Those occurred prior to the debut of Sunday pro football, of course. But there was a time when all three of those Catholic colleges fielded impressive units and Sunday afternoons were frequently devoted to their exploits. But it's been awhile. So this Sunday's Cal vs. UCLA contest is not entirely out of the realm of experience.
