Not true at Serra. The coaches that I know of on their frosh and JV staffs have coached high school (mostly at Serra) for years and years. I don’t know about the Riordan staff, though. -

They would have to leave the WCAL and CCS to avoid playing those teams. They control exactly three games on their schedule. For 2024, they have scheduled Folsom, DLS, and St. John Bosco for those games. -

I don’t think you understand how much high school coaches prep. They spend all weekend reviewing film and building spreadsheets that show every opponent tendency you can think of (short, mid, long, formation, personnel, sudden change, after half, trailing, up, etc. etc.). They share that info... -
