This week the Irish rung the Bells in San Jose 20-13. Very defense oriented game. Irish score three touchdowns Bells get 2 FG and an end zone strike. 44 yard FG in closing minutes to cut Irish lead to 20-13. Do not let their record fool you, the Irish are a legit defensive team with a last second loss to Valley Christian and a tired team in the 4th to be blown by Saint Francis. This team is a sleeper winning 21-20 last week and 20-23 this week

The preseason prepared them! Although scheduling a easy win or 2 maybe have helped.

Easy wins against cupcakes do nothing but stroke your ego. If the goal in the end is to win a CCS title, youre better off playing better teams before the WCAL guantlet because you are going to be playing those tough teams in the playoffs.

This team very easily couldve been 6-1. The adjustments made were they stopped giving up big deflating homerun plays like they did in the earlier games, sticking to 1 QB vs the platoon, switching Fatu to Center, going shotgun vs pistol, and just really tightening up the screws on defense.

Really cool seeing this momentum SH has going for them. Looks like 4-3 in WCAL which is downright an outstanding.

A major key: Putting the ball in the hands of SHC's best athletes so they have a decent shot to succeed. In the pre-season, that was clearly not the case. Now, they have a fighting chance.

It’s a testament to their coaches, players, and school culture that despite so many close losses they kept it together, made the necessary adjustments and now it’s paying off. That’s so much harder said than done. Things can go south quick after a few losses, even with talent, I have seen it first hand, you can get accustomed to losing. They didn’t. Excellent job.
