The Little Big Game between neighbors San Mateo and Burlingame is set for Saturday at 11 a.m. on the former's field. San Mateo, which plays in a PAL B Division, is 5-4. Burlingame, a PAL A Division program, is 3-6. The LBG, one of the oldest public school traditional contests in the Bay Area, was first played in 1927, one year after San Mateo had captured the CIF state championship. This weekend's contest will be the 96th in the long series. Burlingame leads the series, 59-32, with four ties. The Panthers have won the last 13 meetings. That's the longest winning streak in the rivalry's history.
